Picked up the 2013 LC with 88k miles on Saturday. Its in pretty decent shape and should serve as a nice replacement for my 2006 Range Rover.

The Rover affectionately named "Hank Tank" as I originally bought it to haul my dog around because he didn't fit in my M4. Wasn't going to give up the M so yeah, I bought my dog a Range Rover. Here it is:

The LC doesn't have a name yet, but it will is named "Everlong". Here it is just home from the dealer:

This morning I moved the 275/6518 Duratracs from the Rover to the LC and they make a nice difference. This evening I will be moving over the Wilco Off-road Swing-away hitch tire carrier as well. Here is the LC with the Duratracs:

Big improvement in my eyes. More to come... Suggestions/Ideas are welcome. Currently doing research on Icon 2.5 vs OME BP51, Roof Racks (Been pretty happy with the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform on the Rover), Hidden Winch Mounts, Sliders (metal tech vs. Slee) and Drawer systems (ARB seems to line up well with folded seats for sleeping). Anything else?

Getting some work done this week. The OME lift had been installed and it actually looks like about 4" but I'm sure it will settle.

The rear seems especially high...

Also picked up the hidden winch mount from Trail Tailor and a Smittybuilt 12,000lb X2O (save your opinions, my winching needs are pretty limited and so was my budget)...

Fits like a glove and looks pretty nice too...

Relocated the control box with a custom mount...

...

...also added Spidertraxx 1.25" spacers

And finished off this sprint with the Heritage Edition cargo mat...

Added the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform with Backbone system, mounted my Foxwing, trimmed the mudflaps, mounted the Baofeng and replaced the left headlamp assembly due to discoloration that I couldn't polish out. Had the 90k service done and spent some time cleaning up the interior.

Does the Rhino Rack Platform go all the way to the front of your roof? I like this system and with the full rail kit you got as well. I want to get it but want to make sure it takes up entire roof so I have more room for gear :)

I would have a hard time believing there is a rack out there with more useable space. The platform without the rail is 84"x56" I'll try to get a good photo tonight.

From what I've seen, the largest Rhino Rack is 84" x 56" whereas the Front Runner is 85.3" x 49.4", so you would be taking it to the max w/Rhino...

@TheGrrrrr such a nice build! I think I'm sold on Rhino Rack as well. It's a tough choice w/many quality options

I would recommend mounting a light bar on the front to act as a wind fairing if you are planning to run a full rail. Without the light bar there is a lot of wind noise. Without the rail its pretty quiet.

I am considering a 3/4 length setup (60" x 54") as I want sunroof access, but that opinion might change by this afternoon... 😆 I'd definitely run a light bar.

Front Runner's website is much easier to navigate, and lays out their products better than Rhino's, giving me the impression they have more accessories, but Rhino has more sizing options. Do FR's accessories work on Rhino's rack given their similar design?

I doubt the accessories are interchangeable. I really like my RhinoRack, but I think the FrontRunner is a better system. The only reason I have a RhinoRack is because I had one on my Range Rover and I thought I could move it over. I bought the backbone mounting system for the 200 and the platform didn't fit. Had I known that I would have bought a FrontRunner from the beginning. I couldn't return the backbone, so I just rolled with Rhino. Its a solid system but the accessories are massively overpriced. The one feature of the FrontRunner that I love is the ability to mount a table underneath.

Thanks for the great pics and info. Those are the two I am considering, Rhino and Frontrunner and I have had both in the past. Had a Rhino on my Range Rover and Front Runner on my 4runner. I think Front Runner has some sweet accessories but the Rhino felt more "heavy duty" to me. The Rhino Pioneer eye bolts are massive and so heavy duty compared to Front Runner and Prinsu ones, minor thing but man I love those eye bolts lol.

Just to update the build aspect of the thread:

Added Rigid light bar which doubles as a wind fairing.

If you have time, can you post a straight on front picture? I'm trying to get a feel for how far over the sides the 56" wide rack hangs. Thanks!

Are you looking for something different than what is in post #14?

I guess just higher up, so it shows the entire length of the rack, but from the front. If it doesn't make sense or is too much trouble then don't worry about it. Thanks though.

Great build @TheGrrrrr ! I'm curious about Rhino rack's noise level in highway speeds and also what is the Dobinsons drawers dimension? Is it actually designed to act as a sleeping platform too or did you modify it? Cheers.
