Replaced the Kyosan fuel pump that was leaking out the weep hole. I bought an OEM Toyota pump and spacer. I’d have to check the records, but I don’t think the fuel pump was that old, hopefully the new one lasts a bit longer.

Installed my M8000 WARN winch was still new in the box since 2004. Only thing missing was the bracket to mount the controller. Had some fiberglass channel so decided to use SS banding and band it to the body of winch. Got it all done in about 2 hours.

Drove around in north Alabama hunting down stream crossings on the Locust Fork for upcoming stream surveys. Found the stream crossings but the channel was buried in the high water.

Encountered a little road blockage from the storms.

Washed and detailed my new to me FJ60. I’m really excited to start driving her and learning about American V8 engines as it’s my first!

darwink's former beast resurfaces. it's a nice piece for sure

I just put tags on her this week so let me enjoy the shiny goodness for a minute! I pulled the seat covers and gave them a serious wash. The big master bathroom tub finally got used for something.

I have a theory that my wife will like things more if it’s as clean as possible before that first ride.

Finally took the new ride off road. Made a trip with my crew to Hawk Pride in North AL. For an off-roading and land cruiser noobie like me I started on "bunny slopes". Under estimated recent rains and ran into some good mud. It made for an even better trip.
This is exactly why I bought this. Memories made ✅

And finally came up with a name for the cruiser--

Betty White

Old, classic, timeless, and hard to kill!!
