Hey,

I'm getting ready to have this job done. I would like to order a "kit" that has everything I need. As I look online, there are lots of variations of a "kit". Anyone have recommendations of the right kit to buy?

Thanks in advance.

I believe Rockauto.com has a basic kit...but just a heads up I just finished mine last weekend. 2006 / 155k miles / California truck. All my pulleys, serpentine belt tensioner and fan bracket all had signs of wear and I went ahead and replaced those. I ordered all OEM stuff.

Not a huge fan of rock auto. Just a PIA to navigate their interface.

I'm in the same boat. My '03 470 is at 200k and in need of TB/WP. I also plan on doing a new radiator, starter, alternator, valve cover gaskets, plugs/wires etc 'while I'm in there.'

There are several threads with some of the part numbers, but if there is a vendor that has a package with everything needed (and oem parts) that would be easier than trying to piece one together with individual part #s.

How long did it take you?

@Beams37 agree Rockauto is a bit funky to navigate. By the way, stay away from the ebay "OEM Kits" every one that I inquired on when asked straight out if all parts are 100% genuine OEM and same you'd get from the dealer the sellers wouldn't say yes or they wouldn't respond. I think they use counterfeit boxes and repackage cheap chinese parts.

@txnight Exactly! My radiator ended up being toast, so I went ahead and replaced that as well as a precaution.

@BadReligion It took me a few hours Saturday and then another few Sunday. Maybe 6-8 hours total. Didn't keep exact track as I was being pretty casual. Hardest part was that darn AC bolt when removing the fan bracket. I will add that the bottom bolt can be taken off with several wobble extensions, the tire turned away for access and coming through the area where the steering rack boot is.

Yeah. I've been a bit curious about these kits. Seem too good to be true.

Throw in radiator hoses, fan bracket and fan clutch and your pretty much done.

Good luck!

Any chance you have part numbers?

Brush Holder mentioned in the list is for the Alternator if you want to proactively change that.

I also ended up needing a Fan Bracket, but didn't realize until mine was off and I already had parts. Ordered an AISIN from Amazon for $106 FBT-002

Not too bad. Trying to plan my "garage" time. Having the rad. out will make working conditions much better. Did you have to remove the AC compressor to get to the fan bracket?

@Beams37 - Deleted a few extra things I ordered that didn't pertain...However, I forgot to get the thermostat gasket so I bought one from a local dealer. You will need that. OEM water pump came with the two small o rings you need.

@BadReligion Negative. Just the two bolts that hold the fan bracket on that also mount the AC.

Ok. Shouldn't be any worse than removing the compressor. Had the privilege of doing that last summer. Thanks for that list!!

@BadReligion @Beams37 - Sorry let me also clarify that the "Brush holder" on that list is for the alternator if you want proactively replace that. Additionally I order the AISIN brand fan bracket from Amazon because I didn't realize mine was bad and needed to get it quick...that was AISIN FBT-002 and was $106
