Hi, all!

My check engine light came on a few weeks ago. Over the past few days, the CEL has been going off for a bit, then coming back on at random times. It seems as though when I hit a big bump in the road the CEL will go off. Right now it's currently off.

My question is: Can I still check the CEL codes even if the CEL isn't on at that particular moment? Do the codes save?

Thanks for the help!

No you can’t.

Put a paper clip in the truck, read up on the test. Next time it does it, pull the code.

I will bet it is o2’s or EGR.

Cheers

Thanks for the answer! My rig has been idling rough ever since the CEL came on. I wonder if it's related. Any thoughts?

I was guessing that it is an O2 sensor that's making the light go on.

Cross your fingers that it's nothing major!
