Went for a drive through the woods today. Stopped by Big Sandy Campground, where my family stayed when I was little. Let the boys play in the water, while I cleaned up litter in the camp.

The campground is closed until the hazard trees are taken down.

Dead trees everywhere.

Still quite a bit of water running, since we had all the snow pack last winter.

...to be continued.

Came across a ton of down trees on the trail, and this washout.

High centered here, and decided I needed to back out, and go hard driver.

Ended up a little off camber.

Made it through after a little mirror dragging. Then the next obstacle... the ledge wasn't too bad, but too tight of a squeeze.

Caught my tent on this manzanita.

Resulting in a torn cover on the tent. 😥

@TRAIL TAILOR I might need to order a new cover.🤠

Just got home from Solid Axle Summit #3. Had an awesome time with great friends.

Good to see you getting out & enjoying the family in your local area... thanks for the sare.
How bad is the tent?

Monthly trail ride to restore sanity and make all of the PM worth the effort. Met a few new MUD members and got to see some new trails.

Four of us heading out to the trails @ Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area ... 4Runner as leader, then a well travelled 200 Series and two 80s.

The climbs never look as steep in photos. John and Teri had zero fear of damage in the 200. Def not their first rodeo on the trails.

Easy trails before lunch ... just a crawl through the trees

A little 80 Series love ... this 80 is on stock suspension and a 3" body lift :flipoff2:

After lunch we found the limits of the 200 on a more difficult climb through some larger rocks.
20190810_122414[1].jpg

After the horseshoe at the bottom the trail climbed steeply up the other side. This is the 4Runner navigating the way out. I didn't get pics of the 200 or 80 because we had to stack a few rocks and pull the 200 off a high centered spot at one point. Even the other 80 had difficulty getting up the slope due to no lockers.

Thanks. We had a good time.

The cover got a tear. I knew better than to take that trail with the tent up top. :meh:

Adam,

Run to Home Depot and buy a roll of this. It's in the pluming section for around 6$. It will seal it up and IIRC has a -50F to 180F temp range. I'm thinking about another GB on tents in a couple of months, but not sure yet. Regardless, I can order a new cover, just be easier with an order than stand alone part.

Tape the inside and outside both.

Tackled my first large rock obstacle ...

Got a good spot and the 4Runner had already passed this obstacle. We were the only trucks that took this route.
20190810_132332[1].jpg

Both of us got slightly high centered, 4Runner on his sliders and me on my CAT slider and the trans skid plate. Both skids did their job, but I had a brief moment of panic when I heard the fan starting to hit the trans cooler line at the bottom of the radiator because of the full weight of the truck laying on the drivetrain. Got lucky and nicked the hose, but no puncture ... add carry trans fluid to the list of things to take with me and stop be lazy and relocate the radiator for the 1" body lift.

Didn't get a good pic of me coming off the backside, so here is one of the 4Runner to get an idea of the backside of the rock.

An all around great day.

I'll do that. Thanks, Jason!

Installed 90 degree oil filter adapter and changed the oil and oil filter. New shocks on the front. Will do the rear ones next weekend when I replace all the bushings.
