Wanting to pick up an RC toy cruiser... Ive seen in the annual swap meet announcement that some folks may have some. What have yall got? Anyone down to mess around with these things?

Ive always gone for tamiya in the past and there is a sweet tamiya fj40 available right now for purchase with the CC01 chassis.

Alternately, It looks like RC rock crawlers are getting popular now and HPI just designed an amazing RC crawler truck around an FJ cruiser body. This thing looks pretty amazing (#118146 VENTURE TOYOTA FJ CRUISER MATTE BLACK )

Here are the Tamiya FJ40 and the HPI FJ Cruiser:

@iBlaze I should have clarified- NOT Rock Crawler (RC) Cruisers... Radio Controlled Cruisers...
@iBlaze - you know you need this!

There are several options.
I went the cheaper route with a Red Cat E10. If The TRX-4 kit was available when I purchased mine I would have gone that way.
If you are going to crawl/play with it I would stay away from the Tamiya

Head south sometime...

Nice! Buy the chassis kit and then add the body seperately?

I did buy the chassis kit. I enjoy putting them together but you can get the RTR version, it's exactly the same. If you haven't yet, check out Hobby Hangar in Chantilly. Great guys, really helpful and it's always good to support locally owned shops like this.

Thanks! Ill head out there soon.

What have you got down south? Is it big? 12 or 10?

I've seen these and really thought they were awesome and wanted to blow money on a LC version.
So glad to see this isn't just me being ridiculous

I'm tempted to pick up one of these. I'm looking to just get something to play with, not go all out on (yet). Seems like this one will probably fit the bill. I'll hopefully order one sometime this summer.

PM me, I'll sell you mine for $140 shipped. I used it one time.

It's really cool, but I'm spoiled by the 1/10 scale.

Will do. I know I will do 1/10 at some point but just looking for something fairly cheap for me and my kid to play around with in the meantime.
