Tall skinny tires (9 Viewers)

So tires are something I have been trying to comprehend. From what I gather, I am guessing that there is no ~35 tire that’s tall, skinny, fits 16 rims, and is not a straight off-roading tire? I’m looking for something that could double duty as a daily driver.

Same also here, in 35 r17.

Closest available is 285/75/17, and 34x10.50/17.

Does anyone here have any experience with Kenda brand tires? 35x10.5 sure is appealing.

How about a 34 x 9 x 16? It's bias ply.

No, I will not use a bias ply on my 80. I travel far too many miles on adventures to go down that path again. I've run bias ply in the past on dedicated rock crawlers, etc that see short highway drives. Interco I know does make the SSR in a 35x10.5 r16 but that's a heavy and very aggressive tire.

This Kenda Klever R/T appears to be a nicely made tire. 35x10.5r17 and D rated. Considering looking at trying these on Seqouia/Tundra 17" wheels without spacers to see if the narrower tire would fit without rubbing.

Bias ply does have some drawbacks.

I have a 40 and a 45 I'd like to put tall and skinny on but I want to run stock steelies too. That being a 15" rim, what choices to I have for an aggressive (not Swampers aggressive) about 33" tall on the 15s? Am I too old for this equation?

In the words of an old friend... Dammitman!

Whats up with these "Tie-Rod Media Tall Skinnies" ? any eta or details?? :) @woody @35x10.5 #36x10.5

I personally would sell all my 35 and 37's if there was a true 35.5-36"x 10.5

No rubbing- lower lifts needed- less bumpstopping- less castor -lighter handling- so many advantages in this size.

Kenda Klevers on my ladies CX-9. Have 40k on them and they are nearing the end of their life. Good tire for the price, will get 50k out of them I'm sure. A benchmark in the motocross and mountain bike world. Couldn't beat the price in a 20" size.

I put a tape on some 255/85-16 BFG KM2 yesterday on 16x6 Toyota split rims

Height was 32.5” tall and 9” wide

For comparison, my 33x10.50-15 KM3s on 15x7 OEM wheels are a mere 30.5” tall and 10” wide

This almost makes me think it's a mis-label of a 31x10.5x15. That does seem pretty far off.
