2 years ago a buddy of mine showed up to go fishing in a 2009 GX470 with all terrain tires and different wheels. I thought it was a sharp vehicle at the time, it wasn’t until after owning a GMC All Terrain for 3 years that I realized what he was actually pushing down the road, thanks to forums like these and the input you all provide.

I’m now pretty passionate about picking up a decent 08/09 GX with a solid maintenance history and dumping my fairly capable but unreliable GMC. I think I’ve got the truck sold and I think I found the GX I will pick up as early as this weekend.

I do need some help though, the picture below is roughly what his truck looked like. Can anyone provide their best guess on the tire/wheel setup?

I think I’ve figured out the wheels are Raceline Clutch, -12 offset (spacers?)

Look like 285/70R17 or 285/75R17s on 0 offset 17" wheels. Likely 8.5" wide.

Looks like research and advice has solved this setup:

WRANGLER DURATRAC
LT285 /70 R17 121Q E1 OWL

RACELINE CLUTCH
17 X9 6-139.70 -12

OLD MAN EMU
Part# OMEGX470

No factory spoiler either! Very nice!

I deleted my spoiler.

I actually didn’t notice that.... maybe I want one?

Also noticed the wheel liner is gone on both sides in the front by the engine. Looked thin to start with.

The stock wheel liners are rubbish and all rot out. Rad Rubber sells great replacements that are several times thicker and more durable. I highly recommend the small investment.

Looks great! You ended up getting a spoiler?

Looks great! How much lift did you end up with after the swap? It looks like you're riding pretty tall. Have you seen much settling? I'm debating between this setup or the OME setup. I only want a 2" lift max, since it still needs to work as a family vehicle and it'll be a bit of a climb without running boards.

I'm on week 2 with the suspension and it hasn't really settled out, there was about 2.5" lift and 1" additional from the tires. Its still completely domestic with the running boards, grandma and a toddler have survived the change.

Just in case you have more questions regarding the GX in your OP, it belongs to @camcam1616 on Instagram, I'm sure he'd be happy to answer questions you might have!
