Awesome! Been wondering how it’s been coming along down there.

Been slow going only getting some time in the evenings but I've been really tired so only made it out to the shed once or twice. Mrs has me on a few other projects as well as family obligations.. if only i didnt have a day job...

I don't usually even visit here but...... I had a 55 many years ago with a 250 falcon motor in it... went well.... back on track... you said you had a spot weld drill, where the hell did you get it.... I've been keeping my eyes out for some time but never have been able to get hold of one.... great job man... keep it up.

I got the 6mm variant of these:

And thanks for your encouragement..

not much to report lately cept i'm going to have to build a sheet metal brake to bend up these roof bits.. doing it by hand isnt going to cut it. I've come to this realisation after spending the last week pounding on a sheet and not getting anywhere (except mangling a nice smooth bit of sheet steel).... I've am planning source a bench and then build a sheet metal brake. in doing so it'll help with the rest of the stuff that will need to be bent up to get the roof and A pillars done.

Looking at something like this:

with a 6mm thick metal top. That should provide a sturdy base for the leverage a brake might induce on the bench. the above is rated up to 1000kg.

I was going to build a DIY sheet metal brake that'll bend up a 1200x 120mm length, need to do some more research before I can figure out which diy guide/design to go with..

judging by the gearbox position it could probably go back another inch.

Not sure what engine mount combo to run.. bj4x or bj7x..

I think the bj7x will sit the engine higher than the bj4x.. and i'm missing a rubber for the bj4x, so need to see if i've got an old spare somewhere..

left to right - bj4x, bj7x, Dyna

shout out to @lynchmob for trailblazing a b series in a 55! I re-visited his thread and saw his BJ60 mounts in the 55. I threw on the BJ73 mounts and the engine is now sitting on those in the chassis rails! A few minor mods and that should sort engine mounts for the 15B-F!
