Ted I'm still coming Hold me a camping spot!

Just sayin'

137 days or 4 months, 14 days.

if that dont send some of you into a tizzy I got it covered for you. :bang:

I just got home from a 5 day trip to Moab . Had a Great time at the Cruise Moab event and ran some good trails .

so Roger sent this to me and it absolutely blows!!!!!! One of the big reasons I was looking forward to my return.

AreaBFE

On June 5, 2018, Area BFE will be closing its doors to the general public to allow construction to start on the property for its build-out.

This means that Area BFE is CLOSED on June 5th until further notice.

Special Events will be accommodated in Area BFE during our build-out phase to bring in power and water to the property. This will allow Area BFE to add some much-needed facilities such as a bathroom house with showers as well as other amenities.

Once reopened, the park will be membership-based, with daily access fees also available. Please watch our website and social media for membership updates.

If you drive Strike Ravine, you must STAY ON STRIKE RAVINE. Anyone on any of the other trails without written permission from the Owner or Manager of the park will face trespassing charges and be escorted off the property by the San Juan County Sherriff.

Don't lose faith yet!!!

I have already talked to Area BFE about our dates and things are promising. Not guaranteed, but it is SUPPOSED to be open by the 25th. According to BFE, and confirmed by King of Mud himself, Moab construction schedules rarely make their deadlines though, so that's the big "if" we have to watch out for and hope doesn't occur.

Could you guys explain the situation and request "written permission" for your trip?

Already been through all that angle. It's not BFE that is limiting the use, it is the insurance company. We can easily obtain permission to access the land while construction is underway.... It'll be $2500/day.

Damn it man, I'll try to keep hopes up but crap, crap, crap!!!! When God created Rock Crawling he set this little part of the world aside and "this is special." I mean If you're into serious rock crawling it would be a damned shame to be right there and not be able to partake, jus' wouldn't be right.

Haha, no doubt im sure. I was hoping for a redo of bfe as last time both my pride and my rig had suffered severe impacts.

Bump...

Who's ready to go.... Not this guy!

So Ted what issues did you find when you go into the motor?

How ya doing Roger?

Have not touched truck since GSMTR, will do so this weekend. Gonna drag it over to Johns and pull the copper POS out and replace with above 37K mile motor I got for $0. Just have to clean it up, move a few parts over, and drop in the engine bay.

Of course, all that could just be words and I'm full if s***. Time will tell.

Doing pretty good considering. my work list includes redoing suspension, a windshield and electrical work on Spankies truck, going through the axles on 4 car, and fixing anything I break on my 40 between now and then. But before I start that list I need to finish the head gasket and valve job on fork lift.

I just gotta stop wheeling long enough to work on everything. So far I'm horribly failing at that task.

I'd almost agree with Ted but have been living vicariously through Steve and his wheeling trips....

Zero progress in past month due to monsoon and kids (there's 3, the oldest is a Tellico veteran ;).

On a positive note, my in-laws have confirmed they'll be helping to watch the 2 boys, so wife could care less if I go AND I did use the downtime to sell off part of my stalled Rover project, so have cash and hopefully will confirm Monday if Murrah in Birmingham can help me round out the cage work on my punchlist....if so, will have some worthy updates and two 24 hr RT practice drives.....

its getting closer to the trip, so its now time for me to block out some time for it from work.
what dates are you looking at?
what routes are you taking?
(I need to get a idea on the path Steve will take; I will probably match his route)

16 September is our first official day for wheeling. That is the first day we have our campsite at Sand Hollow booked for. Two weeks later, on Saturday the 29th or Sunday the 30th, will be the departure date from Moab.

I will most likely follow what Google Maps suggests: https://goo.gl/maps/izPqYqETkxQ2

How far are you from Llano, TX.? I plan to head there for a small event at Stillwater's Ranch this weekend with some Austin folks. Perfect place to test out your new setup. We stay at Oxford Ranch Campgroud (Google Maps). Camping is pretty cheap, I think $25 for RV sites, and wheeling I think is $20/day maybe (don't quote me on any of that though).
