1980's Pinstripes and decals - Inspiration required. (1 Viewer)

G'day All, I am a terrible designer and need some assistance. I have a build underway in the 45/55 section. It is a 1984 HJ47, that I am going to repaint in the original beige (464). My wife has suggested that this is essentially one of the most boring colours on the planet. So, I'm thinking of adding some nylon style pinstripes or decals down the side - I want them to be 1980's specific. Any suggestions will be warmly received. Here is some motivation. Cheers, Ben

The 45 and 47 series Land Cruisers in Australia were considered so utilitarian that decals and pinstripes weren't really important. I mean if you were a farmer or a miner and turned up in truck like this you could have been shot on sight and fed to the crocs. P.S. The troops is my favourite so far.

I did this a couple of weeks after I bought it in 73.

This was around 98. The paint was a lighter blue and the scallops were red fading into orange to yellow bordered with a silver gray pinstripe.
I have gone full circle and it is now the stock color again with no adornments.
I keep getting this wild urge to paint a Klingon Bird of pray on the hood though.
Yes i know the bezel is upside down.
I was experimenting at that time.
