Maybe put an airdam of some sort in front of it?

Yeah I might could request a second air dam but I’m just going to toss it inside the truck. Too much time dedicated to that for little gain

One this about the hard shell that may give it a 1/2 point reduction from 100% awesome is it takes up the entire roof rack.

Not a biggie.

I’ve been thinking about where to carry some extra fuel now that my RTT takes up my entire roof rack.

I don’t really go too many places I can’t get gas in the Ozarks and such but I often have to search for non ethanol so I like to have extra.

I grabbed one of these

Spare Receivers

And one of these (donated by @under_psi)

Single Jerry Can Holder - by Front Runner

I had a spare FrontRunner slat and I cut it down to two 30” bars

1165mm Slat Add-On Kit - by Front Runner

The final piece was a 12” hitch extension from Northern tool

For your AFI install, does the kit use a VSS or knock sensor?

Neither. A 2F knocks the whole time so that light would stay on all the time :)

Damn your a thinking man Nolen , good job on that fuel carrier

The Slee 3 can fit nicely too but I’m afraid of that much weight on the swingout

I put the Slee carrier on with 3 10L cans. Same amount of fuel in 2 cans but I get to have a water can.

It may be too heavy for my carrier. I’ll watch it and see.

I also read a little about another guy with an AFI getting poor mileage and he added a Bosch O2 sensor to replace the one in the kit.

Mine seems to run a bit rich. I smell fuel in the exhaust. Plugs look good and it runs excellent so as always I toss parts
At it.

The truck seems to be running cleaner with the Bosch O2. I’ll know if the mileage is any better later.

I’ve had an annoying rattle in my lift gate that I narrowed down to worn weather strip after adjusting all the latches as much as I could.

Since it’s oem and not torn I decided to try a bit of non oem weatherstrip to tighten the close.

Worked perfectly. No more liftgate rattle.

Man that seems like a lot of weight sticking out. How much does that weigh?

It may be too much. Likely so. Its about 50# but compounded being back off the tire

I need to just nut up and build a second swing out for it.

^2. Wife says she is jealous that I paid for a fabulous “firm rear end” for my HJ60. A beast. Worth every penny. 4plus from Dave Gore.

Great work! And write up!
So how does that AFI do on the hills?
Truck looks great.

So much better in the hills. Not 2 barrel hiccups. You can also run the RPMs easily to redline. Smooth.

I so want this, but archaic CA emissions are in the way.

Good thread for sure.
