Not that it hasn't been done before but it feels good to hit the 300k milestone. Here's to many more...

Better update the sig!

ya good question. Also what have you replaced within the last 50k miles? Any electrical?

Congrats :steer: Stock tires?

I got all excited at 300 only to realize she probably has closer to 320 after 13yrs on 35/7s

I have larger than stock tires and my odometer quit working for a few months

Congratulations!

I'm just about there (298K). I don't drive my 80 daily anymore (retired) so it will take a bit to put another 2K on it....but 300K is an impressive milestone.

While I don't low much about the history of my 97 80 prior to 319k on the odometer mine runs perfect. Hit 90+mph (confirmed on the indash Kenwood Garmin GPS) with @ 330k on a trip through the VA/NC mountains with 6 passengers, a roof top bag and hitch carrier with 315s on stock gears last year. I was extremely impressed.

Don’t get your panties in a bunch just yet. A couple years ago a Mud member posted a pic of his odometer as he crossed the arctic circle at 460k. Said he bought it at just over 200k and had done only minor engine work himself.

What strikes me more powerfully than the fact that these 80’s will go so far is that they do it so reliably, we almost thoughtlessly depend on them to take us to places far from home and outside the reach of services.

Congrats, I hope to be joining the club in another 19k.

No major engine work has been done that I'm aware of. I was fortunate that the previous owner had it from 1997-2015 (60k to 270k) and kept all of the records. He was religious with oil and fluid changes; I see receipts in the huge folder he gave me for diff fluid changes, transmission fluid change outs, annual brake fluid changes, coolant changes etc... I've kept this trend going and keep the fluids fresh across the board.

Like most high mileage 80's mine has leaks so my next priorities are to start tackling these.

Finally washed the mud off the cruiser for the 300k milestone photo. There's something about washing a vehicle when its 34 degrees out that really makes sitting inside by the wood stove even better (that something is frozen hands).

Tech note: The Yeti 20oz Rambler coffee mug wedges nicely into the "cupholder" area on the center console.

Well my truck only has another 194,000 miles to go to hit 300,000 miles. Something tells me at my age, It'll be another owner that get's the pleasure of seeing the 300,000 mile milestone.
