Sorry to just jump in - you replaced the sub in the factory enclosure?
Single sub?
Are you still using factory amp?
I like the license plate!

Yes I used a $15 sub from amazon, using factory amp, got some good umph out of it. Better than rattles for sure. Most people don’t understand my plates, I have to explain, even to Prius owners. Heh

Your truck is a 99 LX. Not sure if you have a single speaker sub or the dual 4" speaker enclosure.
I know 98-2001 trucks have dual 4" speakers.
You may want to verify before you buy.

If the G Wag (yes, I said G Wagon), 4Runner, and GX's had actual tailgates like the LC there would be some different conversations going on. Just saying. I was even thinking of starting a tailgate conversion company. Tahoe's could use them as well.

The tailgate is mandatory for myself, my 2 daughters, and my wife.
Yep, when my beloved 01 LC was totaled this summer I had the opportunity to buy just about anything, looked around quite a bit but the tailgate was a significant factor in staying with a cruiser. Can you imagine NOT having one???

Picked these babies up on Craigslist for $140, then ordered some spacers from Slee. Now to decide what rubber to wrap around them. :hmm:

Great plate.

I changed my fuel filter for the first time at 230,000 miles. Pretty easy and fun job, just make sure you torque the nut on the fuel line nut correctly or it will leak. I had a flashback to the $800 isuzu trooper II I used to have in high school. The PO let a bunch of water in the gas tank and instead of draining it, simply put a large boat fuel filter in the middle of the line under the car. Nothing like taking a girl on a date, having to pull over to the side of the freeway when your car is sputtering, and getting covered in gas draining and shaking rust out of the fuel filter. Ahh, I miss that fine automobile.

Bought it.

146.5 on the clock, carfax shows two POs did dealership scheduled maintenance, PO put new tires/weathertech mats/timing belt at 135k. As you can see, the AHC is out. OME 1.5" lift kit/ARB bumper/new antenna coming in next week, as well as a case of OEM oil filters and the heater Ts. Only minor rust for a PA/NOVA car. I paid 4k, will have 6.5 in it by the time I'm happy. Paint has serious UV problems.

it looks awesome! Just never use tire shine, and before washing your rig, scrub the letter with some soapy water and the rough side of a dish spung or a brush and they stay pretty damn white, as long as you are not rubbing curbs here or there.

After planning to do this for some time, I finally had drawers and a dual battery system installed. It was done by one of our local 4x4 specialist workshops in Cape Town.

image3-Small.jpg

2 Drawers of same width fitting between the hubs. On the left is a slot above the drawers for a small table.
National Luna Battery Box with an AGM 100Ah deep cycle battery
Engel 40l fridge

image2-Small.jpg

The drawers slide on teflon strips (no sliders on the sides) which allow for less space lost between the drawers.

The table partly pulled out.

The cavity on the left opens with a flap and house the air pump for tyres. It connects to the dual battery.

The right hand side cavity houses the 500W inverter, 2x12V Cig plugs and a dual USD point

The WRND DC/DC charger, which has a built in MPPT controller, is fixed to the battery box. The red Andersen plug is the input for a solar panel.

The face of the battery box is positioned towards the back of the rear seats. This allows access to the additional inputs. The two Andersen outputs are used for the fridge, inverter and other 12V outlets at the back of the car. A dual volt meter is installed in the front of the car next to the gear shift to show the voltage of the main and aux batteries.

Now we need to get out on the road again.

I spray my apps with electrical contact spray stuff
..

I have been driving the car in limp mode for two days. Car throwing p1121 inthe past two days. Weather is getting colder. I have a short slow commute so i limp along using the throttle wire by gas pedal almost on the floor. Then i plan to take the sensor apart and open to see what its like inside but i cant get the three screws out without angled screw driver so i just disconnected the electrical wire and spray a bunch of contact cleaner on the sensor and on the connectors end. Plug it back in. Clear the code using scangauge2 .. and it seem to be working in 32f weather for two days now

Finger crossed. Otherwise
Sourcing out part # 22060-50011 in canada will be $200-$300 cad out of pocket

Also managed to add a master key for my 98 lx. My lx only come with one key. Cost me 50 cad for three blanks from ebay and $33 cad to cut one key. Did the dance with accelerator and brake pedal and i now have an extra master key for emergency... not bad. Much better than $450 lexus dealer quoted me to add a spare key.
