I just bought 1 91 LC 2 weeks ago and there was some clunking when I put it into gear as well as when I accelerate and decelerate which I attributed to ujoints.

Took it to one mechanic in town and he said my front diff was bad. After posting questions in MUD the responses all associated it with ujoint and said the likelihood of it being the front diff was small.

I took it to another mechanic and he is saying front diff/rear diff/and possibly the transfer case.

I would like to get a 3rd opinion from a LC specialist.

I am in Durango...does anyone in this group have a solid mechanic hey could refer or would anyone in the area be willing to take a peek at it?

Thanks in advance!

2 choices in the area, High Country Cruisers in Pagosa Springs or Bill's Toy Shop in Farmington.

do you have the number and address for High Country Cruisers, can't find them in a search

Took my truck to High Country Cruisers in Pagosa Springs yesterday and I can say enough about them. INSANELY knowledgeable and obviously very passionate about cruisers. Very transparent about pricing and very reasonable at the same time. They are starting on the rebuild Monday. So glad I found them....that @spdcruiser

(970) 903-1480. Ask for Justin and tell them Steve with the 91 sent you. Great guys. I have found the only shops I will take my cruiser to.

Thanks, living in Pagosa, I like the guys at Pagosa Tire, but it’s nice to have a Toyota shop to go to.
