Moved my 80 out of the garage so a friend could work on his FJ45LV.

Ran some errands this morning then went to Bed Bath and Beyond for th wife and came back out and truck wouldn't start. Went through diag steps and first thing noticed was no CEL so swapped EFI relay and no luck moved onto the fusible link at the battery that I have just been waiting to go and swapped that and what do you know truck started right up after following along with the trouble shooting guide found in the FAQ :smokin: (Just thought I would say that because I think I read at least 1 thread a week with these symptoms that people refuse to search or read the FAQ)

Ah yes. the fusible link. I've been surprised by that one on both my cruisers. Always carry a spare one now.

Yup carry both a spare relay and links in the truck the only thing that sucked was I took my tools out to clean the truck last weekend and didn't put them back in so replaced it with a Gerber in the parking lot.

It appears your fusible link was tampered with or modified. Maybe someone can correct me and I'm seeing things funny on my phone. It looks like aftermarket wire connectors on the two fusible links coming from the battery...

Your 80 was probably just embarrassed by being parked at Bed Bath and Beyond. It wanted to shame you in retaliation!

It was definitely modified what you see in the before pic were put in while trying to chase another electrical issue in the main harness instead of blowing OEM and spending money on replacements that could have continuously blown those were created as after we fixed one issue others were found. Long story short there were several breaks in the main harness going from the fuse box in the engine bay and the harness and box ended up needing to be replaced it was a combination of age and abuse along with horrible wiring by the PO. I was just waiting for it to go. I bought replacements months ago intending to replace when these went but surprisingly enough these lasted for close to a year.

Finally got my stereo, xm radio, led lights wired, blue sea breaker wired, twin air compressor plumbed and wired, backup camera, caster correction plates, brakes bleed again(wow, with man a fre 7 line brake kit, ebc rotors and pads and a good flushing, this thing stops like a Lamborghini!!!), interior reinstalled, new odyssey 1500 and a few miles on it it is awesome!

Not much for pictures, but damn I’m in love with this thing. Can’t wait to wheel it!

Did you get your back up camera to automatically come on when you put it in reverse? I have not for the life of me been able to figure out what to connect to, to get the camera to come on when I put it in reverse? I can hit the button and turn the camera on automatically when in reverse but it wont do it automatically.

Assuming the head unit you're using supports this, there will be a wire in the head unit harness that you need to connect to the reverse light circuit in the Cruiser. As long as the camera is connected to the reverse camera input of the head unit, this will net you the function you're looking for. There may also be a setting in the head unit menu that needs to be turned on once the wiring is complete. All of this will be detailed further in the installation manual of your head unit.

You need a wire to 12v or ground when you're in reverse. I ran a wire directly from the reverse lights. Then make sure your HU is on the right setting.

The reverse light circuit is what I'm looking for...I have the camera hooked to the power in the reverse lights so when I switch into reverse it turns the camera on but the hu wont automatically switch to the camera. Its Kenwood DDX374bt there is a cable on the back of the HU that goes to the reverse light circuit...but thats what I cant find?

See if your Safelite guy can get you just the glass. May be half the cost of the installed price, and just put it in yourself. That's what we did with Safelite, bought just the glass, reused the gasket, and popped it right in after watching a youtube video. Took 10 minutes to do and very simple. This was on our 60, but I cant imagine it would be that different on the 80. We actually installed all the fixed glass in the 60 with this simple string method I learned on YouTube. Just a suggestion.

Aloha Jen, you are correct, that's exactly how 80 series rear glass works as well. I took all my rear glass out last year and did some rust remediation on some spots that had built up on the metal edges of the window frame. Good DIY job!

Finally got around to replacing my PHH on my 80 series land cruiser! It was a very pesky job indeed... it was such a tight spot to reach, I ended up lassoing it with a strap and pulling it out.
-The HPS silicon kit was great quality and came with most of the heater hoses that I needed to replace and all radiator replacement hoses (7 hoses total). Worked out great ! No more coolant leaks!

The reverse sensor wire is the purple/white wire next to the light green wire (park brake input) in the 2-wire pigtail below the MIC input on the back of the head unit. Make sure the camera is connected to the yellow "R-CAM" input. I just found this in the install/owners manual via Google.
