What floor liners do you have? The ones you can see in the cup holder photos...

These are the Husky Liners. I checked their site in hopes of getting you a part #, but they don't show them anymore.

Wow, very nice build. I have a 69 Camaro that needs some love if you ever get bored. I'd say my 80 needs love but she lives a life of neglect and abuse and I sure wouldn't want her thinking it could get any better than that.

Today I completed the On-Board Air-System wiring and air-lines.

Switch added to dash:

Next was the 100 amp relay. Finished everything up and tested fine.

Finally the ar-lines were installed... Big thanks to @NLXTACY and Absolute Wits' End for the great parker fittings and hose.

Ive had some issues with the ARB Fridge connection keeping contact with the Blue Sea 12V Outlet. Converted it over to Anderson Powerpole SB50's this weekend.

Thanks to @NLXTACY and Absolute Wits' End for the Flush Mounting plate... Very nice design and worked perfectly.

John what happened to the red handle? It needs the strain relief or else those 16awg wires won't last long.

No red handle enclosed... I don't believe I ordered that from you.. I'll have to get one asap... Thanks for the catch on that...

I see ;)

I'll send one out. You will need it bad. It'll make those wires last forever.

Thanks Joey - Outstanding Service as always!!!

Sometimes is just the little things.... My Key Fob was shameful and finally gave up the ghost. Luckily I had just ordered a new fob case from @suprarx7nut

Fine work my friend....

I've been looking to either replace my seats or get new cushions and then recover. Not because my seats are that bad, but my back and hip physically just don't do well with long journeys anymore.

Some people know that I've even contemplated selling the 80 and moving to a 200 series. I'm not a fan of the exterior, but my wife's 2010 LX570 is so comfortable and my back seems to do much better. I've looked at some of the aftermarket seats, but didn't find anything I really liked that met my criteria for a replacement seat.

During my search I came across Scheel-Mann seats.

scheel-mann usa | Orthopedic Automotive Seats

Scheel-Mann seats are manufactured in Stuttgart, Germany and like some other fine German things are made one at a time by great craftsman.

It just so happened that my neighbor Jason who works for Mercedes Benz and owns a great 1991 Cabriolet G-Wagen was taking a trip over to Stuttgart for work. A few e-mails and phone calls with Toby Pond at Scheel-mann USA in Oregon and he was all set for a factory tour.

Some pics below:

Forming the cushions with high density foam.

Just a few of the seats ready for shipment

And the seat that sold me on putting these in my 80 Series

Seat1_zpsawysyb7n.jpg

Seat2_zpsgra2x5ao.jpg

I'll be honest that other than @beno, I've never had a better customer experience than I did with Toby.. From answering questions and getting everything specified just the way I wanted it, it was perfect. This included sending materials to me for color matching and even thread color samples stitched into my preference fabric, Toby did everything right.

I ended up going with the Traveler R with cloth cushions (#S158) and Leatherette Bolsters (#A342) - Tan Thread (#475)

The seats were specified with 4-Way adjustable lumbar support and sliding adjustable seat sliders. I was also stoked that I was able to add a drivers side arm rest.... Finally...

The seat brackets were Cobra Brackets from "Planted" for the 80 Series.

More to follow on the install and thoughts...

Cheers,

John-

It took about 4 weeks after ordering to get the seats from Germany to Oregon and then a week to get them to me. The seats came wonderfully boxed with all parts needed included.

I tested the fitment of the planted brackets and they were perfect.

Next we follow the directions that are included with a web address that outlines the install

We then install the bracket covers and adjustment knobs.

Next comes the slider rails if you so choose to have them, which I highly recommend. In the full rear position, I cant even touch the floor.. This should give you big guys a great bonus.

Next comes the Drivers Side Arm rest and headrest...I recommend that you leave the headrest out until you get them mounted in the truck.

Finally, mount the planted brackets to the seats "Before" you install them.

Repeat for the other seat and your all done.. Took me about 3 hours.Unfortunately, now I need to recover the center console and change out some door accents..

Time to enjoy!
