Hey guys,

So i drove into work today, just fine (i work at the milford GM proving grounds) and i go to leave work, and my engine just cranks and cranks, i checked all fuses, they are good. I dont know where the fuel pump relay is, but my second question is, if my security transponder on my key chain is low battery, will that cause the vehicle to not start? Also, where is the fuel pump relay and what type is it.

Does the check engine come on when the key is in the on position?

i tried banging on it and nothing came on, i think it may be an immobilizer issue, but im not sure how to diagnose that, its my only vehicle to get to work, so i have to parking lot diagnose it lol

If your security light blinks while cranking, then try the following:
  1. Remove EFI relay in the fuse box next to the battery.
  2. Run a wire from the battery positive terminal to terminal F as shown in the following picture. Make sure connections are good between the battery and terminal F.
  3. Try to start it and see if the security light stops blinking.

Ill try it tomorrow if i can get the materials. I know its something dumb too, thats the worst part. Its my daily driver for now, but I may lease a caddy this week. @medtro are there any other relays i can pull out to replace it temporarily so i can at least get the vehicle home?

I don't know any other relay that will work there, never look into that. I would drive it home with that temporary wire if it starts. Disconnect it when you get home otherwise it will drain your battery. My guess is the problem is the fuse box not the relay, but you should test the relay because relay is cheaper to replace. If it is the fuse box and you don't want to pay for a new fuse box, then you can try what I did in My immobilizer fix. If you don't want to build that, then you can try EFI Relay Bypass Kit (Immobilizer Fix) for UZJ100/LX470.

can i just pick one up at a local autozone? if so, does anyone know the part number? Best Relay - EFI Parts for Cars, Trucks & SUVs

IT FITS. This product is a fit for your: 2000 Toyota Truck Land Cruiser 4.7L FI DOHC 8cyl

Not sure how they figured out it fits your 2000 Toyota Truck Land Cruiser. If the relay is the same as the one they show in picture then it is not going to work because the foot print is different. See OEM foot print in post #7.

Is this toyota specific and not carried at autoparts stores?
