So I picked up a used ARB locker, I believe the model is an RD08. It is an older unit and uses a 1/8 BSPT bulkhead. I'm having trouble finding parts to connect the 3.5 mm line from the compressor to the locker. anybody have any recommendations? I called ARB and looked through their parts diagrams, but did not see anything like what I have.

Also, I'm not liking the tooth engagement pattern. I'm using the OEM gears. I started with the factory shim setup and whatever I do the pattern stays the same. I've been on ZUK's gear install site. Great resource BTW. What do you think about the pattern?

The pinion depth is way to shallow. What backlash because this directly affects that and of course actually pinion depth.

As to you bulkhead fitting, I have set up a ton of these for a long time and I have never seen the threaded end do what you have goin on there. ARB stocks older parts of has conversion pieces to update old ARBs

Thanks, I started out with the factory pinion shim size, and I was pretty sure it was too shallow. Apparently I was creeping up on it so I took a bigger swing. What do you think now? Backlash is .008

Too deep now. But taking big jumps like you did helps me get closer quicker. Take .005 out of that and post pics again.

The threaded portion is 1/8 bspt and the air bearing connects to it on the inside. I found a bspt coupling, I'm going to try it with the ARB push to connect fitting they sell for the air compressor.

Just for clarification, take .005 out of the pinion shim?

Correct, move the pinion back .005. please put your backlash numbers on here.

Backlash varies between .0065 and .010.

I removed .005 from the pinion, now it looks shallow again. I have a .003 shim I'll try and split the difference and post up more pics. Thanks again your help is much appreciated.

Yes good call.

I must not have done something right on that last pattern, because I've been pulling shims out ever since then and it's still deep. Here is the latest pattern. Backlash is .008
