I thought I'd be passing this onto my son one day as he's been growing up in it, but it doesn't get driven much lately and it's time to pass her on (again). I've had her about 6 years from the previous owner who I understand had it in the family for a long time. I am possibly owner #2 (in NY) and #4 (in FL). It spent a brief stint in CO with owner #3 before I bought her back. Full details are on the ebay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/185020233984 Here are some details: ARB Air compressor - front / rear locking diffs 40Gal MAF fuel tank ARB front bull bar with hella bright flood lights (toggle switch on dash), lights up the neighborhood or trail! I saw this recently. It looks like a good truck. The seller has less than stellar reviews. I wonder why new rims were put on a vehicle with no rust a low mileage. Any thoughts? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-FJ60-60-SERIES-CALIFORNIA-SUV-250-HD-PICS/264569519009?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D40719%26meid%3Da3674b54c3924196bef9e45e14520db2%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D11%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D264569519009%26itm%3D264569519009%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A38acd688-21c0-11ea-9b31-74dbd180777b%7Cparentrq%3A1a2abaec16f0a4eaa9e85afcffa3dda5%7Ciid%3A1
Caveat emptor. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Toyota-Land-Cruiser/264520623196 JT3FJ60G5F1128801 This flipper lies out his ass in these listings. He didn't buy this truck in 1997 from the 1st owner who died. It came from an auction. https://poctra.com/1985-TOYOTA-LAND-CRUIS/id-B1rHogCbgI68pplL/VALLEJO-CA/Photos Looks like a family of raccoons were living in it. I would be very skeptical of ANY of the claimed service. The re-re-paint quality will be crap. Zero prep. Truck is missing reflectors, antenna, rear wiper. Looks like it was thrown back together. Here's an 80 that the same guy tried to pass off as pristine and that he had owned for a long time...
Caveat Emptor This FJ62 is being offered by one of the Marks clan (Jim/Jimmy/James). If you don't know what this means and are in the market for a Land Cruiser, then please educate yourself on what these scumbags do. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-GX/264516378722 JT3FJ62G5J0083693 I have no firsthand knowledge of this vehicle. However, the prior bad acts by members of this family/clan are well documented here on Mud and across the internet.
Mudders, I'm posting this 60 as a warning so that you know that one of the PacNW scumbag flippers is behind this vehicle: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Toyota-Land-Cruiser/223673988421 VIN: JT3FJ60G5D0059661 As with anything any of these guys touch, you should be aware of possible (likely) Odo rollbacks, nondisclosed rust, bondo, mechanical issues, skipped Title, cleverly cropped photos, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. If you think they're not out to rip you off, then best of luck to you. Here's an older thread for another vehicle this guy was selling. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/buyer-beware-fj62-on-ebay.1112869/ https://www.ebay.com/usr/vintagehunter1979?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
Folks, Another day, another questionable 60/62 pops up on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1984-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-FJ60/312701363890 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 JT3FJ60G2C0046252 Claimed Odo = 88000 What you've got is either a broken Odo (for 20+ years) OR the flipper rolled it all the way back to the last reported reading. There are multiple emissions testing reports after the last Odo reading. The truck didn't float on a magic carpet to the emissions testing station. 60 Seats don't need recovering after 88K miles. Where did the choke control go? The seller is using a fresh 0 feedback Ebay account. They are not new to the car selling business.
Mudders, One of the usual suspects is back at it again. Using yet a different ebay user name. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-FJ60/223556871777?hash=item340d072661:g:NEUAAOSw7kxdCaMK VIN JT3FJ60G4F1128076 He's using the ebay ID vintagehunter1979 I'm not going to publicly reveal how I figured out that this is the same guy, since he has lots of Mud IDs as well, despite being banned for being a total and complete dirt bag thief. If you don't know about this guy, please go ahead and read these thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/buyer-beware-fj62-on-ebay.1112869/ https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/cruisershack.1047800/ There are MANY other threads on Mud, as well. Based on his history of bad deeds, you can...
No Affiliation. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-FJ60/192963606509?hash=item2ced86f7ed:g:YQYAAOSwhWpdE9N2 JT3FJ60GXC0046113 208-800-2829 Seller goes by All Metal Classics and All Idaho Classics in Idaho. I have spoken with another classic SUV collector who got ripped off on a vehicle by these guys. He pointed me in the right direction to do a little more digging on them. They are bad, BAD news. Use the Google machine to do your own leg work. There's plenty of evidence out there. On this particular 60... there are 2 super obvious red flags... first, notice that the snake blinders are attached with drywall screws. My guess is that's the cheapest and easiest way to get them to hang on to bondo. Second, look at...
No Affiliation. I have my suspicions that this 62 is not presented accurately. The rig is in Washington state where a bunch of the usual scumbag flippers operate. They've got the odo rollback thing down to a science. The Autocheck report has one single mileage entry, and that was from back in 1994. This is a huge draw for the flippers since there's no real way to validate the current odo, other than looking at the overall condition OR tracking down the previous owner. The seats have been recovered, which takes your attention away from the overall poor condition of the interior, given the mileage is claimed to be 129K. Snake blinders are missing. The "winner" of the previous ebay listing for this 62 backed out. Flipper is likely...
Its back. I remember seeing this on Seattle CL 2-3 years ago. The owner describes the condition thusly: 'It is functional.' You really have to admire the builder's commitment to chrome/general badassery: Louvers on the fuel filler door! The (enormous) body lift spacers are wrapped in (or made of?) stainless steel. Because if you're going with a 6" body lift, you may as well make sure you can see them from outer space. To compensate for said body lift and align the grille protector with the body, it has been cut/raised/welded to the front bumper (aligned with and mounted to frame).
I've been shopping around for a FJ62 as a daily driver and found this posted on ebay near me. 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser | eBay Buy it now is $28,500. I'm new to the Land Cruiser world and have noticed that prices are all over the place. I plan to check out the car with a mechanic friend of mine and assuming that the seller is telling the truth about rust; and its mechanically sound to drive daily (with occasional fixes/maintenance) what would be a fair price for it?
Saw this one posted on here a while ago but cannot find that thread. It started on on Craigslist and was a very highly optimistic seller. I think several Mud Members sent the guy some notes concerning his price....eventually the listing went dark. I just came across it on Ebay again with same extremely optimistic asking price of a solid 3X what its probably worth. 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser | eBay Offering for sale our Toyota Landcruiser Fj62 that we drive everyday up here in Vermont. It is in pretty good shape, solid rig. Some Surface rust on the lower front apron, rust on door corners and a couple spots you will see in the photos. It’s not a show piece, but it could be, the truck is all there. I changed the front clip to a...
1987 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 | eBay Posting this one because it has a very low Odo. Claiming 58000 But this rig has spent its entire life on Long Island. At first glance she looks pretty clean. Seller (flipper) discloses that "Chassis, wheels and wheel wells prepped, POR15'd and painted flat black" Pics show some other cover-up type stuff. Door corners are rusting. Paint bubbling elsewhere. This truck may not have been driven much, but spending decades in close proximity to the ocean took its toll. I think she's got the cancer really bad. Be aware of what you are getting yourself into and don't simply fall in love with a low odo. VIN JT3FJ60G4H1135757
