1991 Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ77 HIGHLIGHTS: 70 series in the USA, 5spd manual, front and rear locking differentials, turbo diesel, CA title and registration and pre-97 no CA smog required. This is a real 70 series heavy duty Land Cruiser from Japan not a light duty Prado. These are the trucks sold throughout Australia. Africa and the developing world because they are simple and tough as hell. The 77 feels modern but industrial and utilitarian, with a metal dash, flat door panels, etc... However, it can cruiser at highway speeds without problem, and being a VX it has the creature comforts we've come to expect in modern SUVs such as PS,PW, PL,PB, AC, electric moonroof, power lumbar support in driver seat, etc... This is a very...
Running, Driving, Ready to use LHD Project Troopy. I titled it as a project because there are plenty of areas that it could use more love, but in its current state can be used. Shows approximately 271K KM's and has factory lockers. Has the 1HZ diesel engine and 5 speed manual transmission. Was repainted in Europe and not the best job, but presentable. It's a great starting point for someone to take this Troopy to the next level without having to break the bank to own one. This truck has a 24 volt electrical system. Free and clear OR title. Items that have been addressed since it was imported: -Rebuilt Injection Pump -All new clutch hydraulics -Rebuilt front knuckles -Brakes serviced and new soft lines added -All fluids...
Decided to move on from Land Cruisers (for now) and focus on some other things in life. Spending most of my time in Argentina/LatAm, back school, health stuff, the usual. I'm definitely forgetting a bunch of stuff. As I remember, I'll update this thread. But here's what I can remember for now: Body: 1993 HZJ75 Troop Carrier LHD Body blown apart, rotisserie, fully refurbished using NEW OEM panels Wide-nose conversion 79/78/77 Series 80-Series triple locked frame (painted, new brakes/lines, axles rebuilt, T/C rebuilt, Nitro Gear axle shafts, ect...) I’m selling my LHD 1994 Troopy that I had imported by a friend and bought in 2019 from an auction from the Turkish government, where they probably bought it from Toyota Gibraltar Stockholdings. Time’s have changed and I’m in need of a 4 door Land Cruiser to support starting a family (that will also fit in my new house’s lower garage), and as much as I want to keep it, I’m now listing it for sale. It spent a tougher life in Turkey, and...
This one is kind of cool, so I'm posting here as at the very least it could give some ideas to 73 owners for camper conversions (tagging @FJBen). Not mine, no affiliation, no warranties made. ;) Price approx 37,000 USD. https://www.otomoto.pl/osobowe/oferta/4e6645efa6398a4f4f1adf55830de46b-ID6Gm1lj.html 1991 HZJ73 in Poland, ~350K km driven. Guy has owned it since 2006, did a full restoration in 2012 (brought a new body from Italy, sandblasted the frame, etc.) Drove it on expeditions East (all the way to Kazakhstan) and now is retired and has only driven it 3000km in the last couple of years. Included are three tops: FRP with a built out roof tent Black FRP White FRP with a raised roof (an unfinished project, so you can sit inside)...
For sale is my ‘87 LJ70 Land Cruiser with 332,197 kilometers (206k miles) on the clock. The truck is powered by a healthy 2L-T turbo diesel that generates plenty of power and low end torque. The truck was imported from Croatia in 2019 by the previous owner. It has since been properly titled and registered in California as a diesel vehicle and is thus exempt from smog requirements. During my 18 months of ownership, I have religiously changed the oil every 3,000 miles with 15w40 Rotella diesel for diesel engines. Positives: Starts immediately, even during cold ambient temps Healthy glow plug system Minimal blowby Straight, dent free body panels Good, crack free glass Good, crack free dash panels and interior Upgraded power bucket...

1985 Landcruiser FJ75 - the first year of the 70 series. $110K OBO 541-420-0049 text or call Build Thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/troopy-trial-no-2.1156739/ Brought in from Australia 5-6 years ago and slowly built out as my personal and shop show truck. I have loved building it and camping in it, but I just bought my first house so priorities have changed. No corners were cut on this one - everything was replaced with OEM or upgraded parts with the highest grade of labor to show off what our shop can do. While it is a high price, I am into it well over that in parts alone. This is an amazing turn key troopy with everything you could want. Selling it for what I'm into it parts alone. VEHICLE SPECS: -Fresh repaint...
Not mine, no affiliation, I'm just up late again looking at "for sale" ads and found something interesting. 1999 HZJ74 mid wheelbase 70-series. First year for front coil springs and 5-lug wheels. Has the ol' reliable 1HZ straight 6 n/a diesel motor, and (I believe) the R151 5-speed transmission. This one comes with factory locking diffs front and rear, which is a nice option. HZJ74's are something of a rare beast since they only sold them for a couple years AFAIK. Not like crazy rare, but not common, either, and a nice combination of features. Check the photos and you'll see this one could use some TLC, but we've all seen worse and the seller (a dealer) has it priced reasonably at 14,000 Euro (about US$15,000 +/-). If a guy...

I have no affiliation or interest in any of these. I have been posting in the 45 & 55 section trucks I come across in my search. I don’t often come across 70 series trucks. Hopefully this helps someone. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/673249974287457/ https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/655389739650376/
This 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ73 was imported from Japan to the US in February 2020 by Uncommon Motor Cars. This right-hand-drive example boasts a Slate Blue (color code 183) exterior paired with a removable silver FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) hardtop. The Land Cruiser 70 Series is powered by a TURBOCHARGED 4.2L 1HZ diesel inline-six engine, complemented by a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, with locking front and rear differentials, ensuring it can conquer any terrain. While the factory engine was naturally aspirated, we felt this example deserved some added power and decided to turbocharge it with all Toyota parts. In turbocharging the engine we used: Toyota CT26 turbo assembly, Toyota 1HDT...

I unfortunately have to sell my truck. We're doing an addition to our house and the funds are needed there. Long story short, the timing belt blew and the truck needs some amount of work. I don't know exactly as I haven't fully investigated with a mechanic. As I understand, after speaking with Georg, Onur and a few other places I'm looking at anywhere between $10k and $25k for the repairs. I just don't have that money at the moment. SO, here I am. The hook! It's a Cali registered truck. I just renewed for the year through to Sept. 2024. That's right, a RHD 1HZ with CA plates. I've seen lots of people asking about registaring a diesel truck here in CA. and heres one. About once a week someone would ask me if I was selling the truck and...

I am selling "Tweety" , this is a 1991 HZJ73 that had one single owner in Belgium before I got my hands on it trough a dealer in the Netherlands that beat me to it . I have done a lot of work on it including full rear quarter replacements and front fenders and a ton of mechanical and other maintenance . This is one of the best combo's that you can have in the 70 series because it is LHD , has the 1HZ H55 , factory lockers , rear rollbar , suspension seat bases , removable door top frames and even the uber rare bag with the slide in covers for when you take the top frames off . I put at least 200 hours of labor in to this one and a huge amount of new parts . I have since finishing it put around 2000 km on it to make sure the new buyer...
