I used the powersteering from an AWD astro van. They make plates to mount them on the fram, BEHIND the radiator, inside the frame. This way your steering wheel shaft goes straight down into the box, and then you can mount your pump just above it.
Those astro boxes are smaller than saginaw, and this setup works wonderfully because it is all inside your cruiser, you don't have to hack and cut cross members and important supports either.
I did this to my fj40, total cost was about 125.00 in parts, an entire Saturday to install.
You'll need:
3/4" I.D. bolt flange bearing to bolt to your firewall where your steering shaft comes out of:

You'll need from an AWD Astro Van (late 80's)
The box, mounting bolts, steering shaft and it's connections, pump, pump lines and fittings (pretty much rape everything off the astro).
Scrap yard charged me 60.00 to pull everything myself. (took 30 min)
A scrap piece (mine was 36" long) of 3/4" ID DOM tubing. This will slide over and act as the connection beteen your cruiser steering shaft and hook into the astro shaft (since the astro shaft is too long).
Mounting plates for the astro box to be mounted on the frame. It's pretty much two 1/4" plates of steel that sandwhich the frame and then the mounting bolts go through the plates, through the frame and mount the box to the frame. Mine was tucked at an angle just behind the radiator, fits nicely.
Some fluid, some spare bolts, and a drill bit to drill the frame. At the time I didn't have my own welder yet so I flipped a buddy some coin to help me weld the plates (once everything was installed and fitted, NOT before) into place, and the steering shaft.
Turned out great, everything under the hood.
Good luck
