SOLD SOLD SOLD
Looking to sell a project FJ45 long bed here in northeast PA. I bought this truck from good friend Tom Humphries as part of a package deal when he was cleaning out his rather large garage. I had plans to put it back on the road but that ain't gonna happen so it's for sale.
Tom bought the truck from an EBay auction eight or nine years ago and it sat in his dry garage until it moved to PA this summer. He bought it from Andy Litkowiak (Brother Andy) who used to do articles for Trails. Truck has a Hawaiian title(!!!) signed and released. Story is a serviceman stationed in HI bought the truck and had it shipped home to Illinois when he mustered out of the service. He started a "restoration" but never finished. How Andy ended up with it is unknown to me or Tom.
It's a 67, supposedly has a rebuilt F engine in it. Engine is clean and may have been rebuilt I have no verification. Three speed transmission with floor shift. Transfer case a combination of mechanicla and vac control. A previous owner swapped in newer drumn brake axles- look like maybe 74 or 75 vintage. Srteering is original. Driveshafts are not attached but are included. neither master cylinder is good both had pistons froze up. got the clutch master freed but didn't hook it up. Obviously no brakes or clutch operation. I have started the engine and it sounds good (albeit with no exhaust!!!). PO installed a hokey 1" or so body lift. The ARB bumper in the bed is for my 70 and does not go with the truck!!!!!
I believe most parts are there to put this thing back together. Known to be missing is the seat- no seat included. Dash looks complete. There is a small rust hole in the driver floor and possibly some minor rust underneath otherwise this is an extremely solid FJ45. Front fenders, apron, all that stuff very solid. The bed and tailgate are amazing- very very solid and straight. The top is removable and looks good. Windshield frame is good. All lights there side markwers are NOS. Gas tank is there. Frame looks very good. Front bumper is nice. original tubular tire carrier is there. Radiator and rad support are there. Doors are OK. Running boards and brackets are solid.
Fellow 45 owner Bob Basom (old fart on mud) looked at the truck alst week and was impressed. he can probably offer an objective third party opinion on the truck. Bob, chime here if you want.
I'm sure I am forgetting something, Included is a bunch of new weatherstripping from Specter (original Toyota stuff re-packaged) and some other new stuff. Don't be misled here- this truck needs a few days of TLC to get it back together but I believe it is a tremendous candidate to get a solid original 45. I want to get it out of my garage to get my piggy back in out of the weather!!!! Price drop from $4500 to $4000 SOLD SOLD SOLD, come get it! Private Mud message or email me shmukter@pa.metrocast.net. phone calls before 8PM eastern time OK 570-668-2489. Located in northeast PA not far from Rausch Creek offroad park.
