After taking the nice cruise down to the 45 run in my beloved “Shop truck” I found that my mind had too much idle time and began building things in my head. With the recent economy I have come to own more 45’s than one should so I thought I would place my other running/driving 45 up for sale so that I could focus more on the ones needing some love----and more importantly getting them ready to be back on the road! Don’t want to be known as a hoarder!
So up for sale is my 1966 LWB Cummins B3.3 FJ45. Mechanically the items are either new or rebuilt---just did a 970 mile round trip journey to the 45 run and average 22.5 MPG. Proffits Cruisers did most of the hard work---but many additions have been added since getting it back from Proffits. Here is a short run down of the truck:

-NEW Cummins B3.3 with intake heater and new aluminum radiator
-rebuild fine spline axles with disk brakes up front
-Very very low mileage TH475 GMC Automatic transmission (just serviced) with Toyota split transfer case
-Saginaw power steering
-Shackle reversal
-OME springs front and rear
-Upgraded power brakes
-New steering pump just installed----15 miles ago
-New door seals, and door window seals
-Interior of doors treated with Eastwood rust converter and rust encapsulater
-new top windshield seal
-new seat belts
-very low BFG 33 tires with spare to match
-New AutoMeter gauges and senders

The truck has a little less than 3000 miles on all the mechanicals---but that changes daily. Paint was done by the PO not professional---but looks good. There are a couple holes on the underside of the cab—but they have been treated with Eastwood rust converter. All electrical works as it should. This truck will cruiser all day at 60MPH and will go faster but your mileage goes down. On my recent trip to CA my best mileage was 24.98MPG. I am sure I am forgetting something. Asking $18,500.00 or Best Offer---Engine alone was $5200.00 from Cummins. May consider a 45 needing some love for a trade---truck is located in Bend OR.

that is awesome

I've driven this truck.

It's very well put together and pulls hard. When it comes to an old truck like a 45 appearance is always subjective and my benchmark is whether it stops, turns, and goes well. The Cummins engine pulls hard, the brakes are better than any other cruiser I've ever driven, and the power steering is icing on the cake. After driving it and discussing both his truck and mine I felt very comfortable entrusting Bikerso to a 5 figure modification to one of my FJ45SWB's.

You looking for a diesel 45? To say that this is a good deal is an understatement.

Your 45 was what got me interested in the b3.3.

Well I just bought a new 3.3 and now I'm in search of a donor vehicle.

I don't know that it will be a 45 b/c I don't want to have that much $$$ into the project.

Most likely will be a mini pickup or I may import a 75 pickup from oz.

Good luck with the sale....

I may send you a pm and pick your brain about your swap if thats ok?

I am glad more people are looking at the B3.3---good little motor. I have two more engines to go into 45's as of right now---so there will be more B3.3 Cummins in my life. This green truck is just the first of many in a great blood line. I just find it is hard to motivate myself to work on my own vehicles when I have one that is a reliable driver---so this way if I sell my driver then I have to get another one road ready. Let me know if you have any questions.

***I think B3.3 motor could take a 2F off the line. In the lower speed range the Cummins seems to have more git up and go---it is only when approaching the 40's that the 2F might feel a little peppier. The peak Torque for this engine is hit at 1600rpm---so after that is slowly goes down hill. I have driven this vehicle in Portland OR rush hour traffic and had enough power to get out of the way of the idiots---no sports car---but can definitely move the truck.

***Rachel you can pop over the mountains any time for a visit---as I recall still owe you a ride.

Mud Board Special Only

As an added bonus to Mud Members only I am including two new front fenders for this truck---the ones look good that are on the truck--but the amount of bondo used by the PO is not within spec--so down the road when the paint becomes rock chipped and faded you will have a new set of fenders you can put on it for the repaint. You will be able to enjoy the truck for quite some time even with the bondo fenders---but I just want the new owner to have anything that might be needed down the road if he/she wishes to really make the truck shine.

Now with another project in drivable condition it is time I actually actively advertised this truck--starting to look like my own private 45 run with the truck sitting around. Here is a recap on the truck:

Up for sale is my 1966 LWB Cummins B3.3 FJ45. Mechanically the items are either new or rebuilt—the truck performed flawlessly on a 970 mile round trip journey to the “45 Run” and average 22.5 MPG. Proffits Cruisers did most of the hard work—but many additions have been added since getting it back from Proffits. Here is a short run down of the truck:
-NEW Cummins B3.3 with intake heater and new aluminum radiator
-rebuild fine spline axles with disk brakes up front
-Very very low mileage TH475 GMC Automatic transmission with Toyota split transfer case
-Saginaw power steering
-Shackle reversal
-OME 2.5″ lift springs front and rear
-Upgraded power brakes
-New steering pump recently installed
-New door seals, and door window seals
-Interior of doors treated with Eastwood rust converter and rust encapsulater
-new top windshield seal
-new seat belts
-very low mileage BFG 33 tires with spare to match
-New AutoMeter gauges and senders
The truck has a little less than 5500 miles on all the mechanicals—but that changes daily. The body is not perfect, however there are no major issues or rust concerns with this truck. Paint was done by the Previous owner, not professional—but looks good. There are a couple holes on the underside of the cab—but they have been treated with Eastwood rust converter. Only place there is bondo on the vehicle is passenger front fender and very rear side of the bed--all others areas appear great. All electrical works as it should. This truck will cruiser all day at 60MPH and will go faster but your mileage goes down. On a trip to CA my best mileage was 24.98MPG. I am sure I am forgetting something. Asking $18,500.00 or Best Offer—Engine alone was $5200.00 from Cummins. If someone is interested in buying the truck but would like to have additional body work completed before taking possession that can be arranged, but will be an additional cost added to the purchase price. Or if someone wanted something additional mechanically added to the vehicle I can perform that work as well for an additional cost over the purchase price.

--in addition I am having the front drive line slip yoke extended after doing some calculations and determining if someone were able to compress both front springs fully at the same time there would be a slight chance of damage to the transfer case. I don't like slight chances so I am having that corrected. Plus I am adding bump extensions for the front axle.

Was lying under the truck today staring at the two holes and the next thing I know I had a cutoff wheel in my hand. So the bottom of the cab will be fixed correctly and then painted black. I will update the photos accordingly with progress. That only leaves the front passenger side fender as an eye sore.

Here are a few photos showing new front drive line with longer slip yoke, and rust areas cut out. Areas have been treated with a rust converter which requires 48 hours to cure and then new metal will be going in.

With your last two posts, could you hear my heart wrenching scream from Reno?

I thought about warning you but then I realized in posting it up here it would be more like pulling a band aid off quickly rather than slowly.
