So I've been spending a couple of hours a night sifting through about 40,000-50,000 (exact number unknown, there are repeats stored in different folders) Land Cruiser pictures. On one of them, I found this, buddy of mine took it in Venezuela a few years ago, thought you guys would enjoy it.

Found this one, too, I took it at LCC about 8 years ago, it's the only one I've ever seen in person.

That looks like it's stamped in the steel of the hood. The one on the BJ Jeep and the '58 were a stamped steel emblem. I've seen this one in person.

The one pictured above was taken off a 57 or 58 FJ25 that James Asti brought from New Jersey about 10 years ago, it's probably the same emblem, just corroded and repainted over. The jagged edge was a home-made rubber gasket cut out of bicycle tube.
 
One more. I have no idea where I got this one, it's been on the archives for a long time.

That last one is from Cruiser Nerd here. That tub now resides behind my shop in Indiana. It is soon to be cut down into an extended cab for my 45 LWB pickup...the rest of the front sheetmetal to be added to the 45 to turn it into a "phantom" 25 pickup. :cool:

Cool! I realized it was from someone on the list later, I came across three more pics of it on another section.

Found this, too, looks like a hybrid FJ25/FJ40, pretty funky. Are those semaphore turn signals on the side, near the vents??

Nope guys, those are all FJ25 parts (except for the hub caps), and that's the real thing! WOW, thanks for sharing that pic.

Mine is set up for swing-out style tail gate doors, if I ever get around to getting them painted and put on. Wasn't that one of the three tailgate options?
 
Dunno, this is one of the oldest pics in the archives, I think it came from a magazine scan, but I'm not 100% sure. Sorry!
 
it did, came from the CCV or whatever its called land Cruiser mag from Japan, I have it someplace with a full discription of the rig.........in japanese though

and yes those are the pop out turn signals(cause I don't know the real word for em) on the side

I think the pop out flags were called winkers.

Wiper motor aren't stock doesn't even look like TNKs. They look like the type you can get for J C Whitney with the switch on the back. Spare tire should be mounted on the side. I've never seen a tire carrier mounted on the back left side of a 25. Looks like they used a tire carrier from a 1975 or 1976 FJ40. Gas can is also mounted on a tire carrier. The back having two side mounted gate instead of the one piece drop down was available from the factory in the soft top model and I think there is a few of them floating around the US. I think Phil (FJ not CJ) has one that was from South America.

Since all this stuff is not original I think we should track it down and take if off the hands of the owner since so many things were changed. We could buy as a group and I'll even keep it at my place. :grinpimp: Cause I know you all would be to embarressed to have it your driveway. :rolleyes:

I'll ask Marv Specter what they're called again. He's told me before but I can't remember... but it's definitely not winkers. Your winker is something entirely different.
 
Semaphores. Old VW buses (the early versions) had them, as did the earliest VW bugs. Pretty quirky, retro tech.
