255/85/16's BFG MT Put them on via the redneck method of tire install, and it was a little fun too!! Balanced them with the air soft pellets! Approx. 1900/rim for about 8oz dynabead website said to use 6, so I figured I'd error on the side of caution!!

Tomorrow's job will be to get them on the rig, and test drive!!

Total I bough the tires for $600 used with at least 95% on them, and I paid $100 for the rims!!

Darren,
Congrats! Always a good feeling to get new tires under the rig. Sounds like you got a great deal on those meats. I'm a long time BFG MT user myself, so will be interested in any feedback you have. Are these the original/KO type or the new KM2 version?

I am considering a set, but have been leaning more towards the 285/75 R16 version lately.

How do these handle in the snow and ice? How quiet are these tires on the road?

sorry, originals!!

no idea... I'll let you know!!I currently have the BFG AT's and really like them!!

If I don't like these, I'll save them for wheeling!!

Did you put 8 oz of air soft pellets per tire?

That seems like it might be a bit much. I'm only running 5 oz per tire with my 315's.

pretty interested in how this works for you- I have the same tires and keep seeing the dyna-bead/air-soft thing mentioned. post results when you have some miles on them, good luck!

So what kind of combustible did you chose?

Ended up using Starter fluid!! It worked really well, and I didn't have to use very much! Good safe fun!! Thanks for the tip!!

I didn't quite get around to installing them today, due to the weather, and time, but I took some mock up pics as teasers!!

They are a touch taller then my 285/75/16 bfg at's, but the pics make them look a lot bigger since they are not really mounted!!

Anyway here's a couple teasers!!

That does or will look great!

Have I missed a previous thread where the Escape from New york bars were discussed?

I used MT's in Alaska a few years back, great tires, never gave me any problems, very good traction. Can anyone explain me this airsoft balancing?:hhmm:

I put about 1500 bb in each 44" bogger!

Wow.... I imagine there's some formula depending the size o the tires, for now if my weights end up missing, I'll go to Costco and have the tires re balanced, I'll bet the tire guy will go crazy if he finds all those bb's inside the tire!

When you post a pic of em installed can you show a front and rear view, I wanna see how that size will look from a head on to see how the narrow tire looks.

How many prisoners can you fit in the back? (What is going on with those window covers!?)

They are going to be narrow, skinny tire, plus only a 7" rim, but I am considering going flareless in the spring!!

But, I'll post a pic!!

I'm betting that's ice. Does add a grim look though:eek:

Hey, Darren, when you get the new tires on, can you measure what the overall height is with your AO rack on? That's pretty much that set-up I'd like to have on our truck eventually, but the garage is going to make it a very tight fit.

As in I may have to knock out the current header, install an I-beam, and put in a new garage door.:bang:

So I'm curious what your overall height is.:hhmm:
