Found the various shakey mirror fixes after I fixed mine...go figure...I need to visit this site more often to keep it in my head!
Typical issue, broken tab, and broken screw hole:
I drilled some very small hole in the tab, and secured some picture frame nails in the holes with super glue:
I then formed some AquaMend around the nails, and let it sit for two days until it was nice and hard. I'll say too, that working with a play-doh like putty is much easier than trying to dick around with JB Weld.
After it set for a few days, I did some drill and dremel work to form the slot and then did a test fit to make sure it worked...it did. For the screw hole, a coated the screw with some oil before I formed the epoxy putty around it...worked like a charm to remove it. When I installed the screw at the end, I used some loctite to keep it in place.
No more wiggles.
This was the passenger side BTW, the driver's side had already been "engineered" by the previous owner.
