I'm thinking about moving to 285/75/R16 or 255/85/R16 tires, requiring new wheels.

I'd like to go through 4WheelParts and get some Pro Comp Rock Crawlers.

I've read a thousand threads, including the Wheels that work, part numbers thread but I can't find any confirmation / details on 16" pro comps.

It seems that the stock backspace is 3.75". I want to avoid widening my stance, so I'm looking at 16x8 with a 3.75" backspace.

Series 87 (PCW87-6883T) look about right but I can't find any confirmation from folks that they fit on a 60.

There are a few other 16x8 wheels but they all have larger backspaces. Again I'm unsure if those would clear with my tire sizes.

I'm hoping to avoid spending a day having rims test fitted, especially since I will probably be ordering the wheels & tires separately.
 
I too have been mulling over all of the wheel/tire threads. From what I could gather the 16x8's 3.75BS will fit a 60/62 with stock calipers, but it will be very close and could require (a small amount) of grinding. I could be wrong though. I finally think my decision is locked in on the Pro-Comp 152's 15x8 3.5" backspacing with the toyo M/T 33x12.5s. Not a huge fan of the street lock look, but I think it will be ok.
 
Just ordered 6 black Unique 42-7760 wheels (16x7", 3.75" backspace, 0 offset)for $70 each at Discount/America's tire. They are confident they'll fit but I'm nervous. If they fit this should work well with 255/85/16 tires. They said I could fit 285/75/16 tires in a pinch but the belts will bend and tire will wear in the center. Bummer but I guess there is no ideal rim width.
 
Discount Tire rims

Discount Tire could not find rims that fit my FJ62. Their computers said they would fit but either the center rim was too little or there wasn't enough backspacing. Tire Max found some 16 inch rims for me that rubbed the tie rod a little but I have been running them maybe a year with no problem.
 
I got procomp 16x8 2.5 bs from 4wp. Look great and fit great, IMO...

I can't quote part numbers just now, but if you look carefully through the ProComp site, there are many wheels with unusual backspacing and lug patterns. I ended up going with 17 inch Rockcrawlers which were about $75 each and have a 3.5 back space. I *think* there is even a way to order custom through them, although the local 4WP dudes were naturally clueless.

There is a guy here in the 60 section that I think manages a 4WP and he would be a great resource for this. Maybe he'll see this and post up.

Buy only one wheel first and test fit before you buy the whole set. It's the brake caliper that causes problems and you want to make sure it clears the dishing of the centers on the wheels.
 
Unique 42-7760

Got my 7" rims installed with 285/75/R16 tires. The Unique 42-7760s clear the tie-rod ends by about a quarter inch and the calipers by a hair under 1/8".

Here's a few pics from before I hit them with the rattle can (gotta de-bling before I head south).
