Red FJ60 w/white roof?

Maybe this belongs in paint, but i'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the look of a red FJ60 with a white roof.

I like the idea; have an 85 with what I think is a really nice fabricated, black, steel roof rack. Anyone have any pics out there with something similar?

Just looking for someone that might have a red FJ60/62 with a white roof; or someone opinions on how that might look. I've searched and have seen the posts with the FJ80 and with the post which used photoshop ... just looking for opinions. Here's a photo of my rack.

I haven't seen one before but I have always wanted to paint my roof white. It looks good on fj40's and VW's so I'm sure it would look good on our rigs too. If you go through with it post some pics for us!! I would need to do alot of body work before I could paint mine so it will probablly not happen. BTW nice rack.

A white roof? Why not just go with a white landau top? I mean, if your going ugly, go all the way ugly! And for you that are too young to know what a landau top is, google it. Yes, I'm old...

Hey Cruzerman,

I had a 67 Mustang in that olive green with the black landau top....Ford really loved them back then. A buddy also had one of these, which I always thought looked great with one. His was blue with white top...so 70s.

The PO on mine painted the top tan... not sure why- but the look is starting to grow on me. Saw your rig when I visited that shop a few months ago- hope the repairs go well! Not sure this will help ya- but its sorta similar.

i thought about doing the same to mine but couldn't quiet find a line that looked appropriate on the roof. just didn't seem to work on the pillars around the front windshield so i just left it white from the line just above the door handles and painted the lower olive drab out of a rattle can.

That looks nice. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I figure, whatever I do will have to be better than after the crash. See photos, "scarlett" to "snarlett" to "freedom wagon" (with some temporary body parts) ... hopefully back to scarlett in a week or so.

I actually just saw a red one with a white roof a couple of weeks ago up in Rome, GA. I haven't seen it before then and haven't seen it since, but it was a 60 and I thought it looked pretty nice. It definitely caught my eye and I was rubber necking as it drove the other direction. Maybe post something up to see if the owner is a Mud member. I will also see if I can find out who it was and get back to you.

It was classy nice if that's what you are going for.

that's what i'm looking for --
note, if possible, what they did aroun the A pillar - that's definately what will make it work well ... or not.
