i am trying to buy a 2F and the few that i am finding are pretty far away. I need to be able to calculate shipping - Does anyone know the weight of a complete 2F? I am guessing 700 pounds.

i've been reading around and i think it may be closer to 800lbs.....

Weight = heavy.

You're both close. I just helped move one at a fellow mudders garage. One of the guys helping move it says he shipped one and the shipping weight was right around 750lbs.

where did he ship it to?? any idea how much it cost? thanks

Complete shipping weight will bill as 800lbs, 'cause they round up to the hundredweight.

Chukar, I have three running 2F cores of the right vintage, but each has problems (rings, rings & rod knock, rod knock).

I shipped a complete F to Denver using Forward Air (terminal to terminal shipper). With enclosed crate, 750lbs.

hth,

I bought a short block, and had it shipped from New York to California for 350. Still have it, as I rebuild mine.

that's pretty cheap i haven't found anything under $450 most being $500+... who did you use?

My short block (no head) was wrapped in plastic and strapped to a wooded pallet. It was shipped with a common carrier as truck freight. delivered to the warehouse here in Yosemite.

i paid 200 with fedex. i did have to go and pick it up and load it on my trailer. the fedex hub didn't have a working pallet jack so me and mr.fedex loaded it by hand.

fedex didn't work for me they were the second highest right behind ups... i even offered to deliver it to the hub......

i had it dropped at the hub and had the manager(?) of the fedex help me load it. drove right into a huge warehouse with a trailer. i've got a good friend that works there but i don't think that he got the price down, tho he is a cruiser magician...

Free to sign up and I have shipped thru them a few times now with great success. They are by far the cheapest as they are a broker.

Even cheaper than Forward Air who I used in the past exclusively.
