Post up some pics of trucks with factory or dealer applied stripes on them.

This is the pic that got me thinking:

Wow. Warn me so I can put my sunglasses on next time.

Stripes are ugly. Wish I had a pic of mine to post. I believe all of my stuff was dealer installed, I think. It has black half round door protectors, rivited to the doors and the area on the front fender just in front of the door. The kind that is about 3/8 inch wide, that rides in a little trough that is actually rivited to the door. With the little plastic ramped end caps on each end. Very professional job, but I don't think Toyota/Araco did it. Then starting in a thin strip and widening after coming over the front fender bulge are three pinstripes. Today they are whitish, almost invisible and silver, about 5 inches wide with a gap between each. I think they were originally three shades of silver. But now they are cracked, faded and s***ty looking. I've thought about peeling them off, but, I'm sure the fade will still show, or the paint may be damaged. They continue across the rear hatch also. The vehicle also had black rubber guarding glued above the fender wells.

Sadly it has an excellent body and paint, aside from some cancer in the rear wheel arches. The stripes really bring it down.

I had every intention of removing mine, but after the SOA, the truck gained some real personality so they stayed. I really like them now. They go along with the shag carpet and diamond tuck interior, both also factory 87 Toyota. Also, the above stripe kits were factory from Toyota.

Glad you kept them... the OEM stickers are now discontinued.

Like a Zebra

when it's clean it has stripes, when it's dirty it has less!

I did get all new emblems for it including the turbo sticker on the rear. The only thing I could not get was the large full body sticker.

My Hj60 from '87 with original stripes, now it looks a bit different! :D
