I just picked up a spare t-case, and it's different from any I've seen before. It came out of a 1970 FJ40. The case appears to have the same dimensions as a stock t-case, but it has a 2 piece cast housing. It also has "STROWSKI" cast into the housing. The nose cone and vacuum shift unit are the same as a stock case.

Does anyone know what this t-case is?

thats an old case i remember an article in 4 wheeler or pv4 in the 70s about it they didnt last to long no body broke the toy stuff i think you could get different ratios for it and it was stronger than the stock case hope this gives some help

I have heard about a short lived (mabe just a prototype) aftermarket transfer case for the ealier Cruisers which had three speed ranges. Don't know what ever became of the approach, but it obvously didn't catch on. I assume that there were problems ma,ing it actualklky work in the real world. I;d be interested to see if that is what you have here.

I'll try to have pics tomorrow, my digital camera is having problems right now. It's not like any of the t-cases in the tech thread though.
