Gentlemen..... does anyone know the bore diameters for the following FJ-40 clutch and brake components?

1) Clutch master cylinder for years up to 1/75?

2) Clutch master cylinder for years 75-80?

3) Clutch slave cylinder for years 7/70-7/80?

4) Brake master cylinder for years 58-7/70?

Appreciate your help!!

I use a pre 68 brake master cylinder for my clutch MC on my sbc V8

The pre 68 MCis 1.00" bore and the slave is .750 IIRc.... using it gives me another

1/2 - 3/4 " throw on the slave which I needed with a V8 Chevy clutch set up.

It's also a bolt up ( 3 bolt) with no modification.

Thanks, Bennett. I probably spent 3 hours yesterday searching for information. I did see some of your posts where you had gone to the older brake master cylinder. The really got my attention!!

My clutch adjustment has always been very delicate, but workable. I'm now going to replace the clutch/pressure plate. I have no idea what clutch configuration is in there but it has served me well for 11 years. I'd like to replace with same set-up......but improve the adjustment capability.

JT Outfitters has a Clutch Master Cyl that fits the 40 series from early years up to 1/75, that they advertise having a "bigger bore". I want to find out the actual bore of that as well.

If I can get all of this information captured in one place, it might be of value to others down the road.

Thanks very much for the info.

Check SOR they list the bore size on the clutch slave and year related not sure on the other cylinders.

Great! Thanks, Dieseler. I checked SOR and found the bore sizes from the repair kits. Got all I need except for the 75-80 FJ-40 brake master.
