Seat Differences later year 40

What are the front seat differences between 75-78 and 79-84
Will they interchange and are the bolt in the same
I got a 75 and looking a some original buckets to buy but the guys doesn't know what year they are.
Give me a clue what to look for so I will know if they will fit.
I am not looking to butcher up anything. I am a original purist.

79 up seats won't work on an earlier truck without a fair amount of fabrication. Different hole spacing, width, etc. Measure your hole pattern and have him compare measurements.

except I am not where my crusier is
can anyone measure the hole pattern on their 75-78 fj40 for me along with the with and let me know.
I am in fl. for the winter and my crusier is in NC right now.

Hi, from fellow NC & FL cruiser

79+ is a whole diffrent design like Texx said

9/72-12/78 are all the same
and 1/79-1984 is the later style

sorry i dont have measurements though but you can tell the diffrence between the 2 by the bolt pattern on the rails.

early models, the both bolts mount verticle
and late models the front bolts are horizontal and rear are verticle
