Recently acquired a speed calibrator from Slee for my 06 UZJ100. Reading this thread, I figured that the 06 would be a little different than the 2000 model. Looked through the EWD and this is what I found:

I need to intercept the signal from the VSS the red/green wire on pin 6 of the IX1 connector.

The IX1 connector is right behind the glove box so this should be a relatively easy install.:hhmm:

I've often wondered about this myself. You see these on Jeeps and GM/Ford vehicles all the time. Toyota is notorious for making their electronic systems extremely difficult to access which is why you don't see a bunch of different controllers and stuff out there for them. BUT, most of the speedo converters are a simple signal modification. I think you are on the right track but did the kit not have instructions for different vehicles? Does it say it works with Toyota? If it's a kit for domestics it may not work.

This is a Marks4WD generic install. It's designed for landcruisers of all varieties. The instructions give vague guide lines: ie cut VSS output. :D

Only 4 connections to make. Power, Ground, VSS in and VSS modified signal out.

I will post back here when I get it dialed in and working.

Sweet. I'm looking forward to it.

Well got it installed and programed it. Works perfect! Easy install!

The first picture is after I've made all the connections and am testing it. I captured ignition power (pin 7 B/W wire)and ground (pin 5 W/B wire) from connector A30 plugged into the antenna relay.

The VSS is intercepted from the harness connector lowest below the ECU. Pay special attention here: You are looking for a Red/Green wire on pin 6 of the IX1 connector. There is a Red/Green wire on pin 7 as well, so make sure to get the right one. Drilled a hole through the glove box and mounted the match box using industrial Velcro.

One  job if you feel comfortable reading a wiring diagram and soldering connections. I soldered all the connections on mine.

Nice. I need to do this.

Did you just follow the directions on rocker position selection for your size tire?

You set a decimal using a small LCD display. In the instructions it tells you how to determine the two decimals to set. I have 275 70 18 Cooper discoverer st maxx installed which are a hair over 33" tire. The correct setting for a 33" tire is 1.07 and boom perfect! Verified with my garmin app on my iphone.

So... Has anyone tried the Dakota Digital SGI-100BT for their speedometer correction project? SGI-100BT: Universal Speedometer and Tachometer Interface
This looks to be a far more advanced unit than the Yellow Box that most folks use and allows calibration adjustment with onboard pushbuttons like the Yellow Box, but also with an IOS (iPhone) or Android device via bluetooth. Meaning one can install the module behind or under the dash and recalibrate at will without need to actually get to it. It also seems very reasonably priced at around $94 on Amazon...
