Why can't we have these here? Anyway, this picture with the coil over front suspension caught my eye. The adjustable limiting strap is kinda slick too. Anyway, enjoy!

ive seen the outside of this truck hundreds of times, but the inside....thats a first. Looks like the ambulance i used to ride in, minus the stove.

It has been said, the problem using coil-overs is interference of the upper control arm and the shock/spring when fully drooped. Perhaps this spring is short enough that it doesn't interfere and allows full down travel.

So you think they ditched the torsion bar? I'm actually surprised nobody on the forum has tried this.

I think the only two reasons to ditch the torsion bars are to run long travel or a crawler case. Neither is cheap, so nobody has done it.

The coil over shock in that picture doesn't look very robust to me.

I have no more info on the shocks other than they are made by HT suspension

Here is the picture of the rear shock compared to OEM.

Saw one in Moab last spring. German guy with 105 diesel. He was there a week before CM07.

Digging up an old thread
Anyone done something like this
I have a westfalia I love but just don't take it because its slow as slow gets in Colorado and not 4x4
My 100 series has taken a beating from hail and its not really worth selling so I'm thinking of doing something inside with a pop top like our westfalia
I'm thinking inside passengers sit in the third row
Take out the middle row and use that for a great
Oven sink combo with shelves
Roof top tent

I'd love to build a 100 series camper. I remember seeing a guy morphed a fiberglass camper body from an old Toyota camper onto a 80 series. Last I'd read, he said it was too top-heavy. The wife and I were on the interstate today and saw a brand new GMC conversion van, 4x4 with a lift and fuel wheels and it got the ole gears a turning again.

Looks like it... the pic is at full droop and it looks like there's room to spare between the CO and the UCA. Any other info on this truck? It's been 10 years now lol.
