"Solar" MIG welder

A freind of mine has a "Solar" (that's the name brand) MIG 220V welder he's willing to sell for a small sum. I've never heard of Solar brand welders and can't find anything online about them as of yet, anyone here know anything about these machines, are they reputable, are they the AMC Pacer of welders???? Thanks in advance.

I believe Solar was baught up by Century Welders. depending on the model I feel for the home hobbiest it more than likely would be sufficent.

If it in fact is closely related to the Century brand - you will probably be okay.

One of my neighbors has used a Century 110v welder for years without any issues, good little machine for light duty cycle use - you could probably burn one up if you hurry too much.

They used to be very good machines before they went out of business
depending on the price go for it you can always replace the gun with a more common one for consumables although I think they use Tweco guns
