New compressor

I managed to fins a Craigslist score.

2006 DeWalt D55270 Heavy-Duty 5.5 HP 8 Gallon Gas Wheeled Portable Air Compressor.

I have always wanted a gas compressor for changing tires off road and I finally found the deal I wanted. Tire changes made easy at the pits

$150 and it starts with a single pull every time.

Anyone have one of these?

Suggestions on oil for the piston/honda motor???

you could get a big tank in the garage -if you haven't one already- and then have a big line from this compressor to the tank, and presto you have a great shop system too...

Damn, that's a score.

Actually, I run synthetic (Mobil) in my Honda mower. Usually have enough left from an oil change in the truck to change the mower.

Non detergent air compressor oil in the air compressor, whatever you want in the gas powered motor.

If you want, I can ask my friend at Dewalt what exactly to use.

He's a tool rep out in your area.

Already got a 80 gal in my garage and a 60 gal out at mom's place.

This is for running air tools out in the middle of no where. And adding air to the tires of the 40 back at camp

Although I might add it to the current compressor when I am sandblasting for a bit more oomph..

Thanks Colangnut I appreciate it.

Mace,

Go here:

DEWALT D55270 : 5.5 HP 8 Gallon Gas Wheeled Portable Compressor

and here:

DeWALT Synthetic Compressor Oil (1 Quart) - 5130427-00

Synthetic oil is required for the compressor

Looks like Dewalt bought Emglo

Articles

I'll see if I can find out what oil the motor needs.
