Anyone Familliar with LazyCAM CNC code writer?
Taking the plunge (no pun intended) and started making my own CNC router table (starting with router, then making a plasma) Got started by downloading the software and buying the plans.
I've imported my .dxf file, and cleaned up a lot of the tool paths, but I have a few chains that are being cut in the wrong direction. I can't for the life of me figure out why, or how to reverse the cut direction. The file would still work, but there are quite a few un-nessicary transits I would like to get rid of. (LazyCam 2.58) Any help appreceated! Hi Bruce,
I don't have experience with LazyCam however, I use Rams Gold for my 'G' code generator. I first draw the piece that I want to make in AutoCad, save it as a .dxf file and then import it into Rams Gold. Rams Gold asks for such things as tool size, path direction, and strategy (as they call it). Very easy to use and if you make a mistake, you're not out any real time. It usually takes me about three to five minutes to run the drawing through the Rams software. If you're interested in Rams, they have an evaluation copy available through Index. If you have questions or concerns about the Rams software, talk with Dan (the owner). He's a heck of a nice guy and very willing to help out. I was so impressed after I ran the evaluation program for about a month, I bought the program myself. It's not cheap but well worth the money as far as accuracy and a time saver. Send me a PM if you have any questions about CNC...I have some experience. Doug KC6ZWY __________________ Doug Olympia WA 1977 FJ40 1968 R60/2 W/Steib S350 1970 T125 1984 R100ST |
