12 & 20 ton presses $49 & $79!!!

I just found the PepBoys "Year End Clearance Event" flier in my local paper ad circular and they are selling Torin 12 and 20 ton hydraulic presses for $49 and $79 respectively after mail in rebates. I got one of these Chinese presses from HF this year in the 12 ton variety and am very happy with it. Hope this helps someone get a deal.

I am in no way affiliated with Pepboys except being a sometime customer.

Correct, in this case you get a tool capable of pressing bushings, bending metal, etc, great for occasional home shop use. I have a 10 year old Astro branded Chinese 12 ton, that I have beat the snot out of, it leaks slightly and needs to be filled a couple of times a year. Today I pressed a set of GM control arm bushings and straightened the rear arms on my junk, with it.

I wish I had bought the 20 ton, not so much for the power, but a bigger "bed" area would be nice. When the jack starts leaking more, I will just replace it with a new bottle jack, there what ~$15?

Pepboys must use regional pricing, the flier only lists MD and Northern VA stores. My guess as to why so much cheaper in my market is no demand. I bet they will stop carrying them once they rid themselves of this stock. There are also blowout deals on ladders, scaffolding, and other things I find it strange for a "auto parts" store to sell.

The add in my paper has the $79 price on the 20 ton press. I think I'm going to get one. Thanks for the heads up.
