bummer.....I picked up a bolt with mine a few year ago. It made it about five inches around the housing between the housing and the impeller - it reformed the metal of the housing along its path so there is a groove for about five inches where the bolt traveled before stiopping the impeller and the bzlower dead in its tracks......Removed bolts - shook fist in air and returned to blowing snow - hasn't proved to be a a problem......

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I had a John Deere 10Hp 32" cut that got countless rocks caught in it. Year 1, snapped numerous shear bolts, replaced with Grade 5 bolts, ran like a champ for 3 more seasons. Gave it to the Xwife in the divorce for more than I paid for it.
I wonder how long it lasted.....

My love afair with snowblowers ended 2 years ago. In the space of about 15 minutes I had mine run me over, strip the gears out of the crappy transmission, snap a shear pin on one side, and actually catch on fire. Then, when I gave up on it and tried to push it back into the garage, the handle snapped off. The entire thing went to the dump the next day. My neighbors won't let me have one now. It's for my own safety. __________________ KB1OSF '87 Toyota xcab SR5 - SAS'd, stuff '98 Lexus ES300 '04 Toyota Highlander |

My bbq cover has serious teeth marks on it from nibbling it with the sno-blo! And that is with the cover installed. I just have to get so close to everything in order to minimize shoveling that there are scars on all the deck surfaces, railings, dog dishes, etc... cuz I'm too lazy to just shovel a little more!
I have yet to nick the vehicles though. I guess that shows where my priorities are! __________________ JonB ke6gfb 87 bj70, arb'ed, slidered, winched, 4x4llabs bumper. 97 40th fzj80 w/difflocks, cdl switch & pin 7 mod, Hanna sliders, 2.5" ome lift, 1" body lift, rear drawer system on 285/75-16's. 87 sas 4runner- air lockers, dual cases, beadlocked 35" mtr's, waggy & cheby springs, sliders, 8274 winch, etc... |

Sick neighbors sunday paper was the worst one for me. 4 hours with propane torch and channel-locks to get that paper out! And it bent the driveline to the auger as well.

I have never ran anything through my snowblower. Now I know I will be having something go through after reading this.
I have a smaller hand-me-down Toro right now. When my Mom moves into a condo I get the massive TroyBilt my Dad bought a few years back. Heated grips and all. That thing will go faster than I can walk it! __________________ You boys up from the Iron League hey? Lotsa fights? |

I use one at work that is 47" path, that attaches to a tractor. We're getting a new blower and tractor this year. Stepping up to 54" path I believe.

Speaking from the point of a 'professional snow removal tech' Please REMOVE YOUR DOOR MATS before the snow starts. That is, if you like them. Thank you.
Those things get so stuck in there, and they are so thick, I have had to disasemble the whole shoot/auger to get em out, or what was left of them. Condo owners are the best for this. __________________ My life is like trying to swallow a pine cone its tough when you live fast just to die slow. ~Shinoda Build thread: updated 2/23 http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=169539 |

I have been bitching about winter for a couple weeks. I cannot imagine having or having to use a snowblower, I dispise winter so much I would probably jump in front of mine. Thanks for making me not hate my winter as much. CArry On. |
