the powerhead weighs in at around 15# dry.

Those videos make me want to drop some big stuff Most of the material I deal with has the diameter, but will only avg 15-20ft tall(oak).

15-20ft, is a lot weight in oak....

the saw feels heavy after the 1st truck load....

I used my friend's 039 for a day (13lb head). It gave me a workout. We do alot of chest level and overhead cuts before we get to the rounds.

Yep, oak wiil put a good squat on a woodhauler also.

I cannot get the pics of my 090Gear drive units down too a size that this site will take.

The powerhead weighs close to 31lbs. The 60" bar and chain weighs about the same.

Here is a part of the limb we cut last Saturday morning from a very Solid Valley Oak. This was the fifth 8' cut up the limb. The first four were bigger than this and 8' long. After the first two cuts I dropped down in size to my 084 with a 47" bar. After this cut I dropped down again to my 066 with a 32" bar. After that, I dropped down in size to my 046 Magnum with a 28" bar and cut up most of the rest of the limb. For the small stuff we used an 025 and then an 020T.

Yes I do not go cutting firewood with less than 6 chains saws. I don't want to wear myself out. I'm a bit of a wuss.

We hauled three loads of logs. One to my house and two more to some other guys house. Left the house at 9:00am and was back home around 1:00pm.

Fuel can is just for size reference.

Now there's a nice chunk of wood, I'd be tempted to mill some of that. How tall was the tree and does it "check" as bad as our red oak?

The biggest log furthest from you in the picture is a perfect candidate for my Alaskin 2 Saw Mill.

If you want to work up some Valley Oak I have a ton of it already slabbed and dried. Most is 8/8 and some is 12/8 and is 20 to 26" across (coffee table or bar top material).

It checks a little bit more than the Red oak I have but not as bad the the black oak.

WOW, That's quite a large collection.
We don't have 96 saws standing in our shop.

But then again we've got next day Stihl delivery.
Some people pick-up the morning news-paper, in winter-time we grab the morning Stihl

Now if all my customers would use 6 saws to go lumber-jacking I'd be a very happy guy.

Anyway back to chain sharpening I go. It's cold, it's the holidays and the shop bell keeps ringing.

I have an Old Contra Lightening and an 07 and an 07S still in the original box. As well as one of the STIHL Go-Kart engines and an 030 that has never been serviced.

I also have a Contra Lightening 06 Super. It's 168cc or something like that. If I recall, only 12 or 14 were ever made. The piston is about 10mm bigger in diameter than a true 090 piston.
