Small world. I went to High School with one of his grand children, called him "barnCharge" for some reason.

Millions of 24v 80 Landcruisers out there folks, I know this is country/region specific thing but the changeover relay (24v start 12v running) is not to expensive.

I know they were 24v in the scandinavian countries but also Germany and the UK, despite living in Spain I cannot find one that is NOT an import to check what they have here.

regards

Dave

Yep, I have a Canadian market 24V 1987 HJ60 in my driveway, the entire electrical system is 24V, not just the start circuit. It's a NATO spec., not sure why some markets got the 24V electrics, but most diesel model Cruisers up here are 24V, including BJ70's and if I'm not mistaken the BJ40's.

Only info I have is that it's labeled "Hercules" Manuf, Lodi, CA, or something like that. Supposedly made from a P38 starter motor.
Anybody knows about this thing or similar?

P38 Lighting? The Plane?

You see it's not the function, it's the form.........

Think of the irony of fitting P-38 parts to a Land Cruiser......

What would Admiral Yamamato say?
Great quote. Thanks for the laugh.
