Where are you? Do you have any logging equipment suppliers near you? That's where I have my cables made to length. It's also called aircraft cable. Inquire locally....

We've got 94' steel aircraft-cable in 3/8" diameter at our place. It's $79.99....and would probably take about another $40 to get it up to Canada (all brokerage, taxes paid.) I know it's shorter than you are looking for.....multiple lengths maybe? Let me know if we can help.

Acklands is pretty pricey for a "off the street" guy, Princess Auto has 100' coils of 5/16" on sale for $35 right now but you would still have deal with the end termination:
5/16" x 100 ft galvanized cable | Aircraft | Cable | Farm | Princess Auto

I would try someplace like Kingston Industrial Supply as any competent rigging supply company should be able to do 150" of 5/16" 7x19 wire rope with a swaged end for ~$120

Look in the Kingston yellow pages (in canada anyways) under "Wire Rope". Call around and let them know what you are looking for, they should be able to set you up with a line and a spliced eye at one end. You want to get proper "improved plow steel" wire rope (cable) it's the highest strength, toughest and most wear resistant (246,000 to 260,000psi). I would strongly recommend 6 x 19 or 6 x37 classification, the 6 x 19 is very slightly stronger and the 6 x 37 is a bit more flexible. Let the shop know what you are doing with it, they'll give you guidance.
Please DON'T buy unknown spec "mystery" cable. It may be okay for a fence or to bundle something up, but when you are putting it on a winch that can pull close to the breaking strength of the cable your safety factor is zip. A lot of this cheap farm cable comes from asia and has NO quality control or testing. It may save you a few bucks, but your rig and your safety (as well as those nearby) are worth way more.
They should be able to set you up with a safe snatch block as well. And proper rated shackles if you need them. Crosby is a really good brand.
Be safe!

Damn, that's cheap!!!!! If you can get a screaming deal like that, ask your local rigging shop if they'll put the ends on for you. I know my local shop will, because they fix everything. They use a 65T or 150T press to smash the ends on (depending on size of the wire rope). You could always grab a second 100' piece for an extension, too.

ok so update
i looked around town so the princess auto stuff is not rated or tested (garbage). i found a mud member with a brand new 8274 winch cable they were not using as they are switching to synthetic.
the local industrial supply places were not helpful unless i had an account or wanted to buy in bulk .
i do work for a company i can order through however i no longer need it . special thanks to roalco for the excellent info .
