| Winch Wiring Question G'day Guys,
I'm in the process of wiring in a second-hand Warn 9000 lb winch. There is a small black wire that has a tag on it saying "Ground Wire".
This slightly confused Australian would be extremely grateful is someone could tell him where this wire goes to and from
Cheers,
Ben |

| I don't know squat about reading electrical diagrams, but the small guage wire is a ground for the control box and should be connected inside that box and then to an external chassis ground.

| Thanks Photogod. I checked your advice and you are 100 percent correct. You might be better at reading electrical diagrams than you thought. This wire runs from the plug to an earth point. This can be on the chassis or more commonly to the earth connection on the winch motor. Thanks once again. |

| not sure 100%, but IIRC there was a separate ground connector on the motor body for that wire, on my M12. But shouldn't hurt to put it on the main ground terminal, if it fits.
