is this enough lead time

Been talking with Woody about flying into Madison in August. My son will be performing in a marching drum corps World Championship at Camp Randall Stadium on the 12th.

Thought it would be nice to meet up with some cruiserheads while the wife and I are in town.

Woody suggested I visit this forum and post.

From the looks of things ,you guys need some serious lead time to get things organized!

Soooooooo......I'm lettin ya know now, with or without guitar, I WILL BE THERE!

Are 4Runners allowed?

Does wanting a LC really really bad count? Love to join you guys if you'll let me, current rig (94 4runner, 3.Slow, 33x12.5x15's, AI mod, MP3 satillite, CB, GPS, Swing arm tire carrier mod, !st gen Roll bar mod, Cowl hood). Haven't really posted here much other than helping Wiegellj out with a truck load of parts. Maybe Lee will give me a good referal. So I'm in if ya think it's ok, I won't even mind if my rig is harassed like "Oh look at the baby Land Cruiser isn't it cute".

Crappy luck today, changing the front brakes and noticed a ripped in half cv boot. Looks like it's been that way for a while. Figures this would happen just after a layoff (darn thing is almost as expensive as a wife or GF) anyways I'm still in. I think I'll throw a pair of manual hubs on for now, lock 'em out and drive a glorified street queen for a bit. How humiliating :(

Madison Cruiserhead

If there is anything I can do to help you plan your trip let me know. I work in Madison and live just a bit south. I wouldn't mind having some cruiser heads over to my place, maybe have a bonfire or something of the like. Let me know what kind of interest there is!

Do you drive that beauty of a yellow 40 I've seen on numerous occasions on the west side? (Mineral Point Rd./Beltline/West Towne area)

I've waved a few times, but some dumbass in a VW probably doesn't deserve a wave back, unless you knew I had a cruiser at home.

Hijack over....

No, the yellow one isn't mine. I'm not sure I've seen that one. I am usually driving my white 80 series around.

My wife should have some more concrete information for me tomorrow, which is when she books the actual plane tickets.

I THINK that we [wife, daughter and me] should be coming into Madison about 5ish on Friday the 11th. We should have that evening and the following morning available, but Saturday evening will be at the stadium for the performance. Wife and daughter will fly out together on Sunday, and I will hopefully be renting a U-haul to begin another big cross country parts run.

It's OFFICIAL! Tickets are booked! We will be arriving on Friday the 11th around 6pm local time. She reserved a rental car as well.

Updated plans call for me to rent a Uhaul on Sunday the 13th and spend some time picking up parts as I slowly make my way back home. Soooooo a Sunday late afternoon-early evening get together might be do-able as well.

Picnic on sunday works or if you want to do a bonfire on Friday eve that would be cool too. I am open to suggestion!

Update. Wife tells me that the airline bumped our flight back an hour. So it looks like we'll becoming in around 7pm and by the time we get our bags and the rental car, more like 8pm. Don't know if this makes a difference to anyone else's plans.

Best

Mark

August 12-13!

I am still planning on opening my place up to anyone that may be interested. I am thinking that we can have a bonfire / social on Saturday and then a picnic on Sunday. Anyone is welcome to crash at my place (although you may be stuck sleeping on a couch.) Bring the cruisers and we can all compare! If I get enough responses I can calculate the amount of beer / food that will be needed, otherwise it might just have to be BYOB.

I'm thinkin at this point that Friday and Saturday are gonna pretty much be family days for me. Depending on how early in the day I can pick up the U-haul on Sunday and get the familia off to the airport, I should be game for a picnic or whatever.

Hope this works out!

I am in for the overnite. And Thanks again al
