Where to go camping?

Are there any open public lands to go camping? It seems that all the Wisconsin State Parks are closed to camping until May.

I know it's cold - who cares - I'm getting a little cabin fever and I just want to get out and sit by a campfire...

Any ideas?

winter camping

even tho you are a flatlander and hog all of our state parks in warm weather I believe if you search a little harder, a few of them do have winter camping.

McCaslin Mountain outside Lakewood has cabin rentals in the winter...I'd expect they'd also let you primitive out in the snow if you chose...

showerhouse/restroom will be closed tho....in this part of the world, that's the tuff thing to keep accessible...they've had their's freeze up in May before

What type of camping? Tent? Trailer? I know a few spots in Forest County that would be cool. Cold but cool!
Shoot me a pm and I'll get you some more info. I live in Green Oaks, just west of you but know Forest County pretty well...

I was wanting a place to go tent camping. Forest county is WAAYYYYY farther north than I was thinking, but I may pick your brain, anyway!
