Hey Kevin, I’m finally back and I wanted to go back to the locking latch options you were discussing in late June.
In looking at both the stainless and the plastic lock samples you’ve posted, it does seem that if the goal is security of the items in the tailgate, these locks are just not up to task. I agree that locking latches are a GREAT concept, but modifying the lid with a more secure center lock seems to be a better option at this point. I’m sure that we can all agree that a very secure locking latch would have been ideal, but it seems that fabricating, and then mass producing, such an item would be cost prohibitive.
Accordingly, please PM me, when time permits, so that I can order a replacement latch for the one that broke when I originally installed the lid. (By the way, your lid designs just keep getting better and better. Perhaps I should have bumped myself further down the list in order to get the most recent version of the lid? )

Sorry for the delay, back from CMCC now.
I'll send out a replacement latch. The stainless option is a really nice one, and other than the very basic key blank (something that the casual observer would not be able to tell) is quite strong and secure, but boy are they expensive. I would like a set myself, but they are way out of my price range.

Added your name Oswald.
Ok, heres the deal for all the loyal thread followers. I know that things have been slow the last few months while I sorted out some new construction methods and business stuff, and I appreciate the patience. But now I have a handful of prototypes on my hands and I need to kick start the cash flow a bit.
So I have some stuff to sell, each one has some form of uniqueness but still meets all my quality standards. Some prices will be discounted a bit and folks on the lists have dibs on anything they want but since these are not production units I am selling them separately.
If any one has been itching for a lid this is your chance to jump in line.

-SOLD-
First up is the lid pictured above.
I have three 80 series lids available, the one pictured (sticker included ) is almost exactly the same as the production ones.
Differences are: the edge does not come flush with the edge of the tailgate and a few of the holes are off about an 1/8", so a bit of drilling will be required to install, not to mention the huge hole to cut.
This lid is technically the strongest one, the back lip is made from 1/4x1 cold rolled steel, also makes it weigh a pound an a half more than the production ones.
Production units of the 80 lids are going to be $325 + shipping.
This one is $300 + shipping.
-SOLD-

Next up are the two other 80 lids.
80 Lid #2 is the same as above but with 3/16x1 cold rolled steel lip. The edge is still not lined up with the tailgate edge, but the holes are closer to OE, so slightly less drilling.
$300 + shipping.
-SOLD-
80 Lid #3 is technically the same as the production units, lightest of the three, the edge is lined up with the tailgate edge and the holes should be spot on. It looks good, but has been put through its paces a bit, so $300 + shipping.
-SOLD-

Next up is a 60 series lid.
This was a test for the new construction method, it is the strongest lid I have made, but also the heaviest. 1/4x1 cold rolled steel lip, laser cut frame, but a pound heavier than it needs to be.
It's a great lid, sells for full price, $275, shipping included.

Next up is another 60 lid, this one has been kicking around forever, it was an odd size, then fell behind when I made the switch to the button head bolts since it had counter sunk holes, then I was thinking about putting it in my truck for awhile, but then I started this new construction stuff..... its a good lid and it needs a good home.
$250 shipped, and you have your choice of running the flat head (not suggested) or button head screws.

I also have a set of side panels available, these were the first production test set, they have plywood lids and I have retrofit the dust lip to the inside. They will fit a 60 or 62 with no seat belts and no washer bag (these are the early kind that still interfere with the washer brackets).
$350 + shipping.
They can come with plastic lids, but it will be an additional $60
One is the middle lid pictured here:

Damn my washer bag. I never fill it, so I might as well remove it....
Then again, I still have that FF rear to buy, so I'll have to force myself to wait.

Thanks for a wonderful product, and I am waiting for the QP as soon as your are ready, see u did'nt get rid of me yet. Again Pic's of install on the BT60 rebirth thread, there are already a ton on them here. BBFN

Hey Kevin, figured I would make your life harder and notify the 80 guys that you have "considered" the 80 side panels:
http://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-te...ml#post3558916
BY the way, PUT ME ON THE LIST if I'm not already on it for side panels as well

Ahhww, c'mon, as if I don't have enough lists to keep track of, now I have to keep one for a product that doesn't even exist yet?!?!
That would explain the most recent inundation of requests for 80 tailgates and side panels.

Vacation! I wish. Actually we just bought a garage with an attached house and we have been moving/remodeling. So Wagon Gear is technically not up and running at the moment. The dirty work is winding down so our pile of house crap will move out of the garage soon and my tools will move in!
This is a good thing though, it is a much bigger space to work in and I will be able to leave projects set up. Wagon Gear will have a physical address soon, so be sure to stop by!

Thanks guys, the house is a PITA, but hopefully having a garage will be nice, should help with the efficiency but it has been two weeks without a shop now and it's getting old.
I have the names of everyone who has emailed me for the various lists over the last few weeks on paper, but have not done any online updating yet, just haven't had time.
Jeff, you're getting the lists confused, the one in this thread is 60 series stuff, the 80 list is on my web site: here
