Haven't met any of you guys yet, I'll be in Rimrock the 18th through the 21st if anyone wants to extend their trip over the Naches.

I have duty this weekend so I will not be able to make it. If it changes to an alternate date, I would be interested in going but from the input I recieved maybe I would need to be shotgun for someone.

Trail closure date

Ok the Trail closes the 15th of Nov , so that leaves us about 3 weekend's to do this trail , not including the weekend of the 20th, The Timber Tamers club is doing a run over the trail called the red eye run , this is a extreme run that i started about 10 years ago when a bunch of us did a night run of the Naches on a friday after work finishing up Sunday ending up on the Manashtash Ridge then into Ellensburg they have taken it to a new extreme , im not sure if any of you are intrested in this if so the info is below , im pretty open to the 3 weekends before the 15th so what do you guys wanna do, if any one wants to d othe extreme run with the tamers let me know and ill give them a shout and see if we can join them its a lot of fun , but then you will see that by reading mikes email below

Robb

Well here it is: i know its my standard PC email. I don't really
change it. everyone going hope for snow, snow and more snow.

The 10th Annual Red Eye Run is coming up fast.
There are weekends left to work on your rigs. The 4th weekends times
up you should be on the trail.

If you don't already know, the Red Eye is an Extreme Winter Run
(based on weather/trail conditions) of the Naches, Kainer & Liberty
Trails over about 48 hours.
Fri night to Sunday evening, Nov 9th, 10th, 11th

The idea of this run:

Friday Night
This run starts at the Safeway in Enumclaw on Fri Night.
We will run up 410 to the 70 road. Take it to the bottom of the
Naches trail.
We run up over the top past government meadows and down into Little
Naches.
We campout at Long Meadows Campground (The old Jamboree Site)

Saturday
Tackle Kainer, up over the top and down into Buck Meadows camping
at rider's camp.

Sunday
Run Liberty and then head back on I-90 back home.
(This has been skipped in past years, instead trails have been run
in reverse back to the 70 road. More details below)

Now this is just the general plan. Do to weather/trail conditions
time tables are not always keep. There have been years that camping
has occurred on Naches before Government Meadow, sometimes at the
cabin also. One year on Kainer on top of about 4 feet of snow at
the top of an iced over hill that we spent a couple hours on. We
have had blown beads, broken axles and drivelines. Roll-Overs do
occur along with some body damage from sliding off the trail into
trees on an ice covered trails. Personal injury can occur also, we
have had broken arm, twisted ankles, etc.
In past years some rigs instead of running Liberty on Sunday will
run back over Kainer and Naches back to the 70 road where there tow
rigs are at. This has pretty much become the norm since there are
a lot of rigs that are not exactly street legal and driving half
broken rigs back on hwy 90 isn't the best idea.
The west side of Naches Trail doesn't close this year until
Thursday Night (11/15) at Midnight, so running back on the Naches
Sunday is not an issue this year.

Now that all that has been said, we don't control weather/trail
conditions, due to this, this run has been setup with base
requirements:
required * Winch
required * Locked Front & Rear
tow points, tree saver & tow strap.
bring tools, parts and WARM cloths and cold weather camping
gear.

As we all know most of us have run all of these trails during the
summer with no problems. Winter running depending on condition is
completely different. To make it fair to others on this run the
above requires were set. Sometimes it takes everything you and your
rig has to make it. If you are having to be winched or pulled along
by someone else because you are not setup it slows everyone down and
takes the fun of this run away. The opposite can occur to, meaning
a stock rig could make it easily some years, but we have to prepare
for the worst (BEST snow/ice covered trail). I hope everyone
understands this and you if have question please give me a call 206-
227-8115.

Time Schedule- The exact timing can always change. This year has
not been discussed.
We leave from the Safeway on Hwy 410 in Enumclaw.
The first group will be sent out around 7:00pm once there is enough
rigs there.
The second group will leave around 7:30pm. If you are running
behind give us a call on the CB channel 4 and let us know were you
are at. The groups will be airing down at the trailhead; usually
everyone catches up by then. Remember to keep an eye on the rig
behind you. Also make sure to call out on the CB if there is an
issue.
To many folks wait way to long to let the rig in front of them to
hold up for a minute.

Note:
Based on some rig gas consumption or I should say non-consumption
will head for Kainer Saturday morning after breaking camp instead
of running for gas at Whistling Jacks. If you do need to run into
Jacks for Gas in the morning this should take a lot less time since
usually there are rigs in front of you. With the bottom of Kainer
usually muddy as hell anyone that needs to fill up should catch up
to the rest easily. Please coordinate with one other rig if you are
going for gas. No one should run the trail alone

If you have an empty shotgun seat and would like a winch bi?ch.
Please let me know, as a few member and or candidates have asked if
there are any seat available.
(as of this year, I haven't had any inquires for shotgun seats)

See you on the trail and hope for SNOW.
ScramblerMike
