1988 FJ62 Turbo!!!

Thought I'd never put her up for sale, but all things considered I'm going to put it up. I love this ride. Akarilo customized Turbo job, 3" lift. Aussie lockers F/R, 1.5" wheel spacers. Rust free. I've had the interior floors rhinolined including the back of the rear seats by pros....ran me $1900. Installed cd player with MP3 aux hookup. FJ cruiser rubber mats. Custom duct tape drivers seat.

Turbo Job:
Quoting Akarilo - Runs 6psi, manual boost controller, intercooled, external wastegate, auxillary fuel pump, additional injector controller, (2) 30lb injectors, and a wideband AFR controller/gauge. I run 91 octane just to be safe but have never heard any sign of detonation. Never needs "tuning" or fiddling with. Approx 40 hp gain and gas mileage is very comparable to stock. Vehicle is mechanicly rock solid.

http://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wa...st2298335.html

Suspension: Akarillo - Long AAL's, shock hoops front, raised mounts rear, Rancho 9000 adjustable all four corners, extended shackles. Rig flexes pretty good.

http://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wa...uspension.html

Has around 145K......odometer change at 98K. Custom bumpers (by akarilo) and sliders, Sparco rear seatbelt 'harnesses", Aussie lockers F/R, 1.5" wheel spacers, and BFG A/T 33x10.50 tires with around 6K miles....note: tires were out of balance.....had vibration.....they said they've worn weird and barely balanced. Still feel a little vibration, but they think it could correct.

Also, the title reads flood damage, but you can tell it doesn't have any. Inspected by Akarilo, and the rhinoliner guy said it was fine. The hood paint has oxidation and there is some rock rash and dings, but the body is in overall good shape.
$6800 near Tulsa, OK - Possibly trade for locked 80.

Pics Below:

Your biggest selling advantage is that it is turbo'd I'm sure buyers would like engine pics more than anything else. Just a helpful tip.

This is a nice truck. He bought it before I could get money to Akarilo.

Are you looking for any trades?

Did water get in the truck or the reason to remove the carpet. It seemed to be in good shape.

Did you get rid of the rear inside tire holder?

Mainly looking to sell, but a nice locked 80 would be tempting.

No water issues. I had the bedliner done to a truck before. Easy to clean and IMO looks cool.....

Tire holder actually broke. Not sure how. Spares been sitting in the back.

Selling, what gives? An 80 is rather tempting though. Maybe Bomar still wants it. I'm sure if anybody is halfway interested, and actually comes to drive it, they will buy it. The truck really does speak for itself. Good luck with the sale.

As a testament to the reliability of this vehicle, I can honestly say that Harper hasn't needed any input from me on the Turbo system in the year he has owned it. It really is a turn key system.

Do you still have the carpet or did you throw it out?

Good luck with the sale I don't understand the price vs paid. Is it the rhino lining?

If I could move my 80 and you still had the carpet we could talk.

Yea, really thought I'd keep her forever. Getting a different DD though so have to sell. This ride has been sweet. No issues and has really wowed many a gearheads. The turbo job has worked perfectly and provides some serious power.

Don't have the carpet otherwise I'd give it to you......
On price, I did buy it for less, but I got a killer deal (thanks aka), the bedliner job ran nearly $2K, and I'm not in a huge hurry to sell....

Tell Bomar you'll toss is a new set of carpets if you guys can reach an agreement

You could also work some kind of trade on his 80; two birds/ one stone.

The story on the 80 is that I bought when I was able to get this 62. It is one of the cleanest 80's I have seen. I will PM you the rest.

Ok, we're back on the market. I've got 80 fever.

Since last time:

- 5 brand new 285/75/16 Bridgestone Dueller Rh-s ATs
- on 5 brand new black 16" steelies - spare tire rims guys are using

$7500 obo - will trade for a locked 80 without a ton of miles.

Newb question; how does the tranny like the extra power, did you have to beef up the valve body?

I'm I'll talk to Akarilo on that one.
The turbo provides an extra boost here and there, but I don't push it much. Worth it for sure though.........compared to other 60s I've driven.

Did you find the carpet yet? lol.

I am back in the market for a truck. Being a one car family has put a serious crimp in my hunting time so far.

LOL - still no carpet. I still like the bedliner more.
I'd sell her for $6500 without the new tires and rims.

That's a bus tranny, used on many much heavier and much more powerful vehicles. Not an issue.

Nice truck, good luck with the sale.

Are those Tacoma spares, and did they need spacers to clear your TRE or calipers?

Good luck on the sale, cool truck!
